This method is called sonogenetics. Genetically modified proteins are introduced into brain cells using a virus, making these cells responsive to ultrasound (which cannot be heard by humans or most animals). Ultrasound pulses are then used to remotely activate and control the cells. A couple of caveats: ✔️ So far, it is in preclinical trials and has only been tested on small animal brains ✔️ It has potential for good — scientists are researching its use to find cures for Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, depression, diabetes, and hormonal disorders What are your thoughts on this technology? 〰️ Source: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2022/02/220209093410.htm #soundtherapy #frequency #sounds #soundwave #healingvibrations

Voice Sound Auscultation (Bronchophony, Egophony, Whispered Pectoriloquy) Placement: Focus on areas where pathology is suspected, but these are standard points to cover all lung fields. Posterior Chest (Most Important for Lung Pathology): Patient position: Sitting, leaning slightly forward 1. Upper Lobes: • Just above the scapula (trapezius region) • Between T1–T3, medial to the scapular border 2. Lower Lobes: • Between T3–T10, at: • Interscapular region • Inferior angle of scapula • Posterior axillary line • Midscapular line Total: 6–8 spots on each side (symmetrical comparison is crucial Anterior Chest (Optional if back not accessible): Patient position: Supine or sitting upright 1. Upper Lobes: • Above clavicles • 2nd intercostal space, midclavicular line 2. Right Middle Lobe (right side only): • 4th–5th intercostal space, anterior axillary line 3. Lower Lobes (if needed): • 6th intercostal space, anterior axillary line Lateral Chest (for RML and lower lobes): 1. Mid-axillary line, around: • 4th, 6th, and 8th intercostal spaces #physio #physiostudent #physiostudent #physiotherapist #anupriyaramesh #physiotherapystudent #physiotherapy #pestudent #physicaltherapy #physioeducator

Tone is used interchangeably with timbre when referring to voice and is also the more commonly used one. You can think of it as the quality or ‘color’ of sound you produce! Elements such as onsets, offsets, attack, vocal tract shaping also influences tone! 🤓 Pitch is how high or low we perceive a sound to be which is related to the frequency of vibration at the sound source (the vocal folds in this case). Eg, if you’re singing an A4 (the note A in the 4th octave), the pitch is 440Hz where the vocal folds are vibrating at 440 times per second to produce the note A4! 🥸 I realised there’s so much jargon we use in singing. Here’s my attempt at providing clarity! Feel free to DM if you wanna start working on your voice with me! What are some other terms that you find confusing? #singing #voice #terminology #vocalcoach #music #education #instrument #timbre #tone #pitch

Extreme Frequency Modulation at higher values can occur Aliasing ⚠️ Aliasing is an effect that occurs in digital audio when high-frequency signals are inaccurately represented or reconstructed. It happens when a signal is sampled at a rate that is too low to capture its high-frequency components accurately, violating the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem. According to this theorem, the sampling rate must be at least twice the highest frequency in the signal to avoid aliasing. When aliasing occurs, high-frequency components are mirrored back into the audible range as lower frequency artifacts, resulting in a distorted or “aliased” sound. This is often heard as harsh, metallic, or inharmonic tones that were not present in the original signal. #sounddesigntips #sounddesigner #sounddesignerlife #sounddesign #sounddesigners #sounddesigning #abletonpush2 #ableton #abletonlive #abletontips #MusicProductionCourse #musicproductiontutorials #musicproductiontips #psytranceproducers #musicproductionlife #musicproduction

Now - how do these sounds feed back to movement? Notice how the brightness of twang can be mapped differently than just a constriction within the larynx - notice how forward, wide, and high your tongue is! Notice the smallness of space. For that ‘confused old man’ notice how it expands your throat and back of the mouth. Making these links between sound, perception, and action is a powerful way of learning through the senses rather than with the mind, which is a main feature of Body Based Voice Ped. A new 12-week segment is starting January 6 & 7! Yes! Two options to meet weekly for the same price of $495USD/segment. When: Mondays 12:30-2EST & Tuesdays 6-7:30EST (this is for YOU Australian friends!)
