The majority of these are towns with one stoplight but the cities of Rapid City, and Sioux Falls are quite the contrast from the rest of the state. I’ve been all over the country and Sioux Falls ranks among the most beautiful cities in the country!

This scenic drive is famous for its towering rock spires, tight tunnels, and epic black hills views. Entry is $20 for 7 day access and RVer’s beware that the clearance on the famous tunnel is just 8 ft wide and 9’9” tall. My van fit but it was tight!! This drive is definitely worth the slow, winding ride if you’ll fit! Don’t underestimate the Midwest and all of its outdoor beauty 🪨 Custer State Park in South Dakota is one of those places that makes you pull over every five minutes because the views just keep getting better. Between the wildlife loop, sylvan lake, and Needles Highway, it’ll feel like you packed a whole national park into one Midwest state park. 🛶 Pictured Rocks in Michigan is such a hidden gem that feels like you found Caribbean water in the Midwest. The colorful cliffs and sea caves along Lake Superior don’t even look real. 🌿 Witches Gulch in Wisconsin feels like walking through a slot canyon in a forbidden place. You weave through the canyon on a wooden boardwalks surrounded by greenery and it definitely doesn’t feel like the Midwest! 🌊 Devils Island in Wisconsin is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been and far exceeded my expectations. It feels like kayaking on the ocean even though it’s really a lake. The sea caves, red sandstone cliffs, and turquoise water look unreal when the light hits just right. 🥾 Notch Trail in South Dakota is short hike that still makes you work for it in the best way.
