Half Yearly Holidays: Half Yearly Holidays started: Ban on conducting special classes- Opening of schools on 2nd Jan
The half-yearly vacation has started from today (Dec 23) for the students of classes 1 to 12 studying in government, government-aided and private schools.
*Private schools also have holidays
All private schools operating under the Tamil Nadu Curriculum will be given a half-year holiday till January 1. It has been mentioned that schools will reopen on January 2. The Director of Private Schools has sent a circular in this regard.
**Strict action against schools
Meanwhile, there are reports that private schools are planning to conduct special classes during the holidays. In this situation, the school education department said that no classes should be held during the half-year vacation. A warning has been issued that strict action will be taken against the concerned schools in case of violation.
Meanwhile, due to heavy rains, students from four districts namely Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi and Kanyakumari could not write the half-yearly exams completely. Exams for students of classes 6 to 10 in Mathematics, Science and Social Science and for classes 11 and 12 in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology are yet to be held
