It’s easy to grow an endless supply of green onions. I saved the root tips from these and popped them in a dish of water yesterday. They already started regrowing, so today I’m potting them up in some soil. I’ll put them in a sunny window and be able to snip off fresh green onions whenever we’d like to add some to a salad or use as a garnish. I may even plant them out in the garden as soon as the soil warms up so they have room to multiply and produce seed. 🧅 #ourlandtoyourhands #leefieldandco #indoorgardening #gardening

This is not just a task to keep the onions looking tidy (although I do quite like that 😉) Cutting the tops from the onions will help them to grow strong stems,which is good for spring onions, and also focus more energy in developing the onion below the surface. This will get trimmed probably, depending on how they do, twice more before they're planted out.
