The A34 & A35 framing angles are structural safety connectors. They’re not decorative, and they’re not optional when loads matter. Simple breakdown: A34 → keeps framing from sliding side-to-side A35 → keeps framing from sliding AND lifting up Why this matters to you as a homeowner or investor: When a house moves—from wind, earthquakes, or settling—these connectors transfer that force safely into the structure instead of letting joints fail. In plain terms: ➡️ They keep walls tight ➡️ They keep framing locked together ➡️ They help your home pass inspection and last longer Small steel. Big structural responsibility. Installed properly, these are part of what separates professional construction from shortcuts.

Why framing matters! Framing isn’t the flashy part of construction, but it’s the part that decides whether everything else succeeds or fails. 1. Structural strength & safety Framing carries the load of the roof, floors, people, furniture, wind, snow—everything. Good framing keeps a building standing straight and safe for decades. Poor framing can lead to sagging floors, cracked walls, or even collapse in extreme cases. 2. Durability over time Well-done framing resists warping, settling, and movement. That means fewer repairs, less cracking, and a building that ages gracefully instead of fighting gravity every year. 3. Everything else depends on it Drywall, doors, windows, cabinets, flooring—none of these install properly if the framing isn’t level, plumb, and square. Bad framing = crooked doors, gaps, squeaks, and constant “why does this not line up?” frustration. 4. Energy efficiency Proper framing allows insulation, air barriers, and vapor control to work as intended. Sloppy framing creates gaps and thermal bridges, which means higher energy bills and less comfort. 5. Code compliance & resale value Building codes are written around safe framing practices. Good framing helps pass inspections, avoids costly rework, and protects property value. Inspectors and future buyers definitely notice framing issues. 6. Cost control in the long run Quality framing might cost a bit more upfront, but it saves money by preventing structural fixes, cosmetic repairs, and energy losses later. #framers #carpenterlife #solidfoundation #quality #newbuild

Most people think framing is just cutting a bunch of 2x4s the same length and nailing them in. It’s not. In older homes — especially ones built in the late 1900s — the floor joists and beams are rarely perfectly straight. Lumber moves over time. It crowns. It bows. It settles. So if you batch cut every load-bearing stud at the same measurement and assume the ceiling is level… you’re building in stress. Even an 1/8” difference matters in structural framing. That gap means uneven load transfer. Over time, that can lead to drywall cracks, sagging, and movement. That’s why we measure every single load-bearing stud individually. Not because it looks impressive on camera. Because structural work doesn’t allow assumptions. Details no one sees — until they’re wrong. #Framing #ConstructionLife #LoadBearing #Carpentry #Tribond

You don’t see the problem until it’s already expensive. 🪚👀 Twisted lumber. Broken trusses. Framing out of square. Missed loads. Not to code. By the time drywall is near, the damage is already baked in. Here’s the truth builders know but hate to admit: Most framing failures don’t start on site. They start on paper. The fix isn’t more patchwork. It’s smarter engineering. NexGen steel panelization solves these issues before the first piece is ever set. Precision-designed. Factory-built. Code-compliant. No warping, no guessing, no rework. Plan it right. Engineer it once. Build it clean. 🔩 👉 DM “STEEL” to learn how to eliminate framing problems before they happen.

The first-floor deck isn’t just framing — it’s the control layer for everything that follows. If it’s out of level or out of plane, every trade above pays the price. What @greenside_design_build shows here reflects disciplined sequencing: start with the foundation and make it right. Uneven concrete gets corrected with shimming and planing before sill plates and joists are set. That step alone separates production framing from precision framing. Joist selection and orientation matter. Crowning consistently, planning layout around toilets and bearing walls, and reinforcing high-load areas with LVLs and flush beams all prevent future deflection and finish issues. Structural decisions are also coordinated with mechanical runs — especially where steel beams intersect HVAC — because structure and systems can’t compete for the same space. 2 story exterior walls can be a pain in the 🍑without a machine. I started building em on the second floor years ago when possible and tip em down into the stairwell. This is an aspect of framing I’ve always loved: figuring out easier, more efficient, safer ways to get the job done. Nice making easy work of projects that many non tradespeople see as near impossible. 🤷‍♂️😁

Mike Conneely breaks down how to start framing the right way. From snapping accurate chalk lines and establishing a solid control line to smart strategies for framing a walkout basement, Mike shows how early layout decisions keep a house square, crews efficient, and structural steel landing perfectly—without shims or rework. It’s a practical look at setting the foundation (literally) for fast, clean progress as framing goes vertical. LINK IN BIO - MIKE CONNEELY

On this episode of “let’s build a house”, we have framing. 🤓 Framing a home is building its structural skeleton (floors, walls, roof) using lumber, creating the shape and support for all other finishes, from foundation to roof. The process involves laying out plates, installing studs for walls, adding headers for openings (doors/windows), then building floors, ceilings, and the roof structure, with sheathing added for stability. 🙌🏽 Thanks guys!

1. Not Gapping your sheets. You should have 1/8 of a gap around the whole sheet (No need to slam the tongue into the grove till it’s tight). 2. Sending 1,000 nails into the sheet (more nails does not equal no squeaks) 3. Not really a mistake but we have found using Subfloor foam adhesive creates a much better bondage with the subfloor and joist! #framing #construction #fyp #bluecollar #tools
