Hide this on your phone in a hidden folder for security. If you lose your passport, this bar code can help expedite its replacement at the embassy. 2️⃣ Enroll in the State Department Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP will email you alerts and travel advisories in the event of terrorism, health, weather, or other disasters. In the event of something more serious, they will also know that you are there. You can opt for just travel messages or enroll your time abroad. 3️⃣ Save the phone number of the US Embassy in the country or countries you’ll be visiting.
