Am vergangenen Freitag hat eine Freundinnen-Gruppe das Geburtstagskind in ihrer Runde mit einem Sashiko-Workshop beschenkt. Es war ein vergnüglicher Nachmittag, der uns zu diesem kreativen Bericht inspiriert hat: Gerdas Geburtstag gefeiert. Gesellige Gratulantinnen, großartige Gruppe! Gestickt, getüftelt, Garn genau gewählt, gegenseitig geholfen, geflickt, gestaunt, gelacht, gefreut. Gemeinschaft genossen! #sashiko #nähküche

Over time, those practical reinforcement stitches developed into the distinctive geometric patterns now widely recognized as sashiko. Embroidery and mending is absolutely an on the go activity and I especially love being able to get out and stitch in public. It’s national mending in public day every day if it were up to me! I used our Star/Cross stick ‘n stitch pattern and “make it a kit” thread, needle, scissors add on for this quick and easy elbow mend. #visiblemending #sashiko #sashikostitching #mending #sashikopatterns
