HEMoel Tŷ Uchaf, the site of a UFO incident known as the 'Welsh Roswell'.
This is one of the most paranormal sacred sites in North Wales, boasting sightings of ghosts, spectral hounds, and malicious members of the Tylwyth Teg (fairy folk).
In 1974, locals in the nearby village of Llandrillo witnessed a strange set of lights appearing in the sky above the circle, followed by explosive sounds and tremors. Some even reported 'men in black' roaming the area, leading people to believe that the government covered up a UFO crash site.
Alongside UFO sightings, Moel Tŷ Uchaf is meant to be home to the Cŵn Annwn (Annwn's Hounds) ghostly dogs that haunt the nearby hills, hunting the unsuspected. Accompanying these hounds is the Mallt Y Nos (Night Hag) who drives the hounds on with eerie shrieks and wails. Legend says that if you hear the hag cry, or the hounds wail, then death is meant to follow.
This Neolithic stone circle sits at the top of a rounded hill at the edge of the Berwyns in North Wales, and place that has been inhabited by humans since prehistoric times. Surrounding this circle are a number of bronze age cairns, ancient tracks and standing stones. The site is also thought to have been used for ritualistic purposes and possibly even ancient burials.

ANThe Druid's Temple 🌑
Originally built in the nineteenth century, the Druid's Temple was built by William Danby to resemble ancient stone circles such as the Stonehenge.
Despite it not being as ancient as the other stone circles I visited, the Druid's Temple had such a lovely atmosphere to it, especially since it was so foggy!

BOThe grange stone circle by Lough gur is the sacred site that I visit the most. Its very active with loads of modern tribes gathering for ceremonies and just relaxation in general.
With a lot of people visiting here, it’s speaks volumes to the integrity of these souls that the place is always left in such great condition.
I’d like this level of reverence to be applied to all our sacred sites.

Stone circles have always blown my mind. Many were constructed by ancient inhabitants before historical records began. Some are thought to be linked to a significant astronomical event, such as the summer or winter solstice and may have been used somehow in pagan rituals. Either that or… aliens 👽

SCToday is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and the longest night in deepest, darkest winter.
This event was once so important, those who lived in Scotland thousands of years ago had to mark it in some way. That's one of the theories behind our ancient stone circles.
They're found all over Scotland, from the oldest in Orkney to the Western Isles, Aberdeenshire, Fife and of course Kilmartin Glen. Some seem to align with other crucial events, others are still a mystery. All are incredible to witness.
Even the passageways of burial cairns like Maeshowe or Clava point towards the midwinter sun. Maybe today is the day when we're closest to those who came before us.
What we do know is that from tomorrow, the days begin to stretch again, bringing the warmth of spring ever closer.
I still haven't managed to organise myself to actually be at any of the locations aligned with the midwinter sunrise or sunset, next year I promise! So, instead, this video is a mishmash of some of my favourite Standing stones and cairns from around Scotland, regardless of their alignment.

ANA circle of stones standing silent for over 4000, allegedly older than the pyramids, older than written history in Britain. But why was it built? A temple to the sun? A burial ground? A place of healing, or perhaps something we’ll never fully understand?
Every year the solstice sun still rises perfectly in line with the stones, a timeless reminder that whoever built this place knew the heavens well.
