NO🧱 Stone cladding 🧱
The question we get asked the most!
How did we do it & what do we recommend… so here we go!
Ours are the mixed sandstone blend stone cladding by @kucibrickslips finished with chalk coloured limestone mortar.

These have absolutely transformed our home and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. Chrissy and his dad installed them with no previous experience and found the installation process really easy. Here are their best tips for installation.
1. Make sure you sort the stone out first by coursing them into sizes. Allow increments of 1cm so you’ll finish with boxes of 5,6,7,8cm and so on.
2. Start with larger stones to the bottom of the wall and decrease size as you go up.
3. Add in random shaped stones as you go to give the random effect.
4. Always lap vertical joints between courses. You want to avoid a stacked appearance as the wall won’t look natural.
5. The adhesive they provide is a fast setting so only start mixing small amounts until you start to get the hang of it.
6. Use 20-30mm spacers between the slips so you get a nice thick mortar joint. We made our own from pieces of 18mm MDF which seemed to be the perfect spacing for aesthetic.
7. Use a mortar gun for applying the mortar. This is a slow process but the best way to prevent mess and ensure a neat job.
8. The mortar is slow drying so wait until the mortar starts to set 3-4 hours before finishing it off. We used a grouting tool to give a rough textured finish.
