This is US Airways Flight 1549 — one of the most incredible survival stories in aviation.
On January 15, 2009, an Airbus A320 struck a flock of birds shortly after takeoff, causing both engines to fail. With no thrust and very little altitude, Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles had only seconds to act.
Realizing no runway was reachable, Sully made the critical decision to ditch the aircraft into the Hudson River. The landing was executed with incredible precision — and against all odds, all 155 people on board survived.
A moment where training, decision-making, and composure turned a potential disaster into a miracle.
