🧱Grundstein für unsere KI-Zukunft: Mit dem Neubau des Höchstleistungsrechenzentrums HLRS III entsteht auf dem Campus Stuttgart-Vaihingen eine Infrastruktur, die Supercomputing und Künstliche Intelligenz auf europäischem Spitzenniveau ermöglicht. 🏠Im künftigen Gebäude HLRS III wird mit Herder eine neue Supercomputer-Generation arbeiten – mit einer Leistung von mehreren hundert Petaflops. Gleichzeitig entsteht hier die europäischen AI Factory HammerHAI, eine zentrale Plattform für Künstliche Intelligenz in Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft. 🗣️Wissenschaftsministerin Petra Olschowski: „Mit der Grundsteinlegung setzen wir heute ein deutliches Signal: Baden-Württemberg geht beim Supercomputing voran. Das Gebäude HLRS III wird unsere Spitzenforschung weiter deutlich stärken. Es gibt den Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern im Land genau das Fundament, das sie im Höchstleistungsrechnen und für die KI-Anwendungen von morgen benötigen. Wir investieren hier auf höchstem Niveau bewusst in technologische Souveränität, weil wir die Zukunft Baden-Württembergs selbst gestalten und nicht anderen überlassen wollen.“ 🏗️Auch beim nachhaltigen Bauen wird das Gebäude Maßstäbe setzen: Photovoltaikanlagen an Dach und Fassade erzeugen z.B. Strom, die Abwärme des Supercomputers fließt in das Wärmenetz des Campus. ℹ️ Das Land investiert in diese europaweit bedeutende Infrastruktur für Höchstleistungsrechnen rund 138,5 Millionen Euro.
