Overexcitement is super common with puppies for several reasons, most notably because they haven’t learned that sitting and controlling their excitement gets them what they want.

Basically, an overly excited dog hasn’t learned a valuable lesson yet- the lesson being this: ➡️➡️ CALM, polite behavior is their ticket to fun, freedom and food!!

Solution?
✔️ Pepper your day with polite moments.
✔️ Take the extra few seconds to wait for the dog to settle before putting on the leash.
✔️ Dogs do what they are allowed to do. Don’t allow the dog’s energy to snowball. ⬇️⬇️

How?
Use the crate to “disagree” with over excitement, and only release the dog from the crate when calm. This isn’t punishment this is a time out.
