INFrom a Tier-3 college with 3.5 LPA placements to Google at 85 LPA — and then he quit it all.
That's the story of Raj Vikramaditya, founder of takeUforward known to millions as Striver, and it’s one of the most inspiring journeys in India’s ed-tech space.
His background is as middle-class as it gets. His father moved the family from Goregaon West in Mumbai to Kolkata to find better opportunities. Raj studied at a Tier-3 engineering college where the best placement anyone could hope for was 3.5 LPA.
But he didn’t accept that ceiling.
He cracked a 30 LPA offer from [Media.net](http://Media.net) — the first in his college’s history. Not from IIT. Not from BITS. From a college nobody in the tech industry had heard of.
Then he went further. He landed at Google in Poland, earning 85 LPA. The dream job. The dream salary. The validation that everything he’d worked for had paid off.
And then he walked away from all of it.
Raj quit Google to teach coding from a small room on YouTube. No fancy studio. No funding. No safety net. Just a belief that he could help students like himself — the ones from Tier-2 and Tier-3 colleges who had talent but no guidance.
What he built from that small room:

→ Over 1.5 million students reached without a single rupee of external funding
→ A 20-member team that he recently took to Thailand
→ A brand-new physical office in Bangalore

No venture capital. No investors breathing down his neck. No pressure to show hockey-stick growth for someone else’s returns. Just organic, student-first growth built on the quality of his teaching.
The most powerful part? He didn’t need to leave Google. Nobody forced him. He chose impact over income.
