Robyn completed the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Horsemanship (Equitation) at the Teagasc Kildalton College in Piltown, County Kilkenny. In addition to winning the Overall Teagasc/ FBD Student of the Year 2025 award she was also successful in the ‘Other Land Based Category’. #teagasc #education #equine

💧 Improving water quality is about implementing the right measures in the right place. 🇮🇪 Across the country, farmers are making real efforts to improve our water quality, but new research from Teagasc and the University of Galway points to a very clear need for a system-wide effort to embed a more holistic, farm-by-farm approach. Agriculture graduate Ciara chose a different path before and during her studies at DkIT. Although she had the points to get into a Dublin University, Ciara put the BSc (Hons) Agriculture at Dundalk IT down as number one on her CAO form, with the educational partnership with Teagasc, Ballyhaise Agricultural College, being a massive part of her decision-making process. Ciara loved the amount of time students on her course devote to hands-on work at Ballyhaise. “It is definitely more practical than other courses,” she says. “There are three days a week practical experience in Ballyhaise in first and second year, and two days a week in third year.” Ciara’s advice to any student sitting staring at a blank CAO form is, ‘Don’t be afraid to do something different. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box, to do something completely different than your friends. I am incredibly proud that I made such a perfect choice for me as a sixth-year student.” #cao2026 #leavingcert #agridegrees
