KIIn an increasingly complex digital landscape, we must ensure that Singapore remains secure, resilient and trusted.
At @singaporemddi ’s Committee of Supply debate, I outlined how we are strengthening our cyber defences — particularly against sophisticated, state-supported Advanced Persistent Threat actors.
🏢 Safeguarding Critical Infrastructure
Beyond reviewing cybersecurity standards, we will selectively share classified threat intelligence with our Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) owners and equip them with advanced threat detection capabilities. Early detection and coordinated response are key to resilience.
🔮 Building Deep Capabilities
The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) will work with training providers to design courses that equip professionals to address Advanced Persistent Threats. We will also continue the Cybersecurity Strategic Leadership Programme to strengthen board and C-suite leadership in cyber governance.
👥 Protecting Citizens
As cyber criminals increasingly target consumer devices, routers sold in Singapore will be required to meet the equivalent of Level 2 under our Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme. We are also exploring similar standards for IP cameras.
Cybersecurity is foundational to our economy and our society.
We must remain vigilant, invest ahead of the threat, and work closely with industry and the community to keep Singapore a secure and trusted digital hub. 🇸🇬
