🚨 Major Class-Action Lawsuit Exposes Alarming Privacy Failures in Meta's Ray-Ban AI Smart Glasses A federal class-action lawsuit has been filed against Meta Platforms and Luxottica of America, accusing the companies of serious violations of consumer protection laws and false advertising in connection with the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses !!! Plaintiffs Gina Bartone (New Jersey) and Mateo Canu (California), represented by the Clarkson Law Firm, argue that Meta's prominent marketing statements, including "designed for privacy, controlled by you," "built for your privacy," and "You're in control of your data and content," deliberately misled consumers !!! These claims led reasonable buyers to believe that photos, videos, and audio captured by the glasses would stay completely private and never leave their device without explicit consent !!! The shocking reality is far different !!! When users interact with Meta AI by sharing content from the glasses (a heavily promoted feature), that media is sent to human reviewers at a subcontractor in Kenya !!! These contractors have been exposed to extremely sensitive and intimate material, including: • Explicit nudity and scenes of people undressing • Footage of sexual activity, captured during private intimate moments • Recordings inside bathrooms and while using the toilet • Visible personal financial information such as credit card numbers and bank details Reviewers have described seeing "everything from living rooms to naked bodies," with many subjects clearly unaware that their most private moments were being recorded and viewed by strangers !!! Although Meta claims to apply face-blurring filters and other anonymization techniques, multiple sources indicate these measures are inconsistent and often ineffective !!! Meta insists that content stays on the user's device unless deliberately shared with Meta AI, and that any human review is limited, disclosed in privacy policies, and conducted solely to improve the product !!! However, the lawsuit asserts that these disclosures were hidden deep in legal fine print and completely overshadowed by the company's repeated, high-profile privacy assurances !!! .

Smart glasses are getting smarter—and more private. 👓⚡ Brilliant Labs just announced Halo, a new pair of AI smart glasses built with Neuphonic and TheStage AI that processes voice and vision directly on the device, not the cloud. That means faster responses, lower latency, and most importantly: your data stays with you. The glasses feature context-aware AI, private memory that recalls what you see and hear, and on-demand AI mini-apps, all inside one of the slimmest smart-glasses designs yet. Launching Q1 2026 for $349, Halo could signal a new direction for wearable AI—one where your glasses are smart without broadcasting your life to the internet. Researchers are experimenting with a fascinating concept known as “adversarial clothing,” a special type of garment designed to confuse AI vision systems. Instead of blending into the environment, the clothing uses carefully crafted patterns that disrupt how artificial intelligence identifies people. In tests, these patterns were able to trick object detection models like YOLOv2, causing the system to fail at recognizing a person in the frame. To the human eye it may look like a strange design, but to an AI model it can distort the visual signals used to classify objects. The idea behind this technology is rooted in privacy. As cameras and AI surveillance systems become more common in cities and public spaces, researchers are exploring ways individuals might protect themselves from constant automated tracking. 🕵️‍♂️ Although still experimental, adversarial fashion hints at a future where clothing itself could act as a layer of digital defense. It raises an interesting question about the balance between security, technology, and personal privacy in an increasingly AI-driven world. 🤖 Would you wear something like this to stay invisible to AI cameras? #AIPrivacy # #CyberSecurity #Innovation

Technology is becoming more wearable, more powerful, and less visible. Smart glasses and AI-powered devices can now record video, capture images, and process what they see in real time. While this technology is still limited today, it raises important questions about privacy and awareness in everyday life. The future of technology may not always be obvious. #AIPrivacyDaily #SmartGlasses #Privacy #AI #TechTrends DigitalPrivacy

The buzz around Meta's latest smart glasses is getting loud, and for good reason. Shocking revelation: A percentage of the captured media is being subjected to *human review* by auditors. Imagine your private moments—even concerning things like bathroom trips or potential violence—being seen by a third party! This raises a massive ethical and legal question: When Meta's auditors witness potential criminal activity through a user's lens, who bears the responsibility? Deeply fascinating and slightly terrifying implications for digital privacy. #MetaGlasses #SmartGlasses #PrivacyMatters #TechControversy #Surveillance #AIethics #FutureofTech

Meta is facing a class action lawsuit over its AI Ray-Ban glasses. The claim: Meta marketed the glasses as "designed for privacy, controlled by you" - while allegedly sending users' private footage to overseas contractors without telling them. According to the lawsuit: Footage from inside users' homes was transmitted to Meta servers It was then sent to a subcontractor in Kenya Human workers viewed and labeled the footage to train Meta's AI models Users were never informed this was happening The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in California federal court against both Meta and eyewear maker Luxottica. Meta says content stays on your device unless you choose to share it, and that using contractors to review content is standard industry practice. The plaintiffs are seeking damages and changes to Meta's business practices. 🔖 Save this post 👍 Follow @aibigthings for AI news that actually matters 📰: Bloomberg Law _ #aibigthings #ai #meta #privacy #rayban
