Put your skis in 4WD with Daymakers Classic alpine adapters! Our 4-bar linkage shifts the pivot directly under your foot, allowing you to efficiently climb steep terrain in the same downhill boots you use for the resort. 🙌 This is GREAT for newcomers to ski touring who have not yet developed proper techniques for traction on steep slopes. So we make it easier for you! #daymakertouring #youcantourwithus #backcountryskiing #skitouring #skiing

Where should you mount tele bindings? Alpenglow Sports’ philosophy is to mount between 1-3 cm behind alpine boot center, depending on boot size. This NTN mounting philosophy blends brand recommendations, tele specifics, and our experience mounting thousand of tele skis since we first opened our doors over 50 years ago. Dive into the comments with your ideal mount points and let’s discuss! Anyone still using cord center? This is the first topic we’re tackling as part of a season-long push deep into the world of tele. I’ll be bringing insights from Jeff and more community members directly to you here on Instagram. What topics should we cover? Drop your questions in the comments and we’ll make our way through each one. See you out there!

Project update on the TX pro hardboot splitboard boot! Most of us know my first two mods: Adding the Link Lever and removing the tongue. At this point, the boot walks amazing and rides great but there’s more work to do. I now feel that there are six total mods to really perfect the boot. You’ll want to: 1. Add the Link Lever. 2. Remove the tongue 3. Shave the tab(s) 4. Remove the booster strap 5. Remove the spoiler 6. Shave the boot sole for automatic crampons. If we can’t get that last step solid, I’m it sure this boot is it! Security in the boot ladder is among the best benefits of a hardboot and this boot is not well set up to take crampons. Has anyone solved this yet? How are you doing it? What I’ve done is tried all the automatic crampons that we carry at Alpenglow Sports. Some are close but none pass. I assume that strap crampons would work but I don’t even know if that’s true! I’ll be keen to hear y’all’s experience. What should I do next on the TX Pro project?

Protect your knees without changing the way you ski. Ian’s breaking down the Tyrolia Protector Series bindings. Designed with Full Heel Release (FHR) technology, these allow the heel to move 7mm laterally and rotate 30° in backward twisting falls. That added range of motion can reduce ACL strain by more than 50%. Ask us about the Protector PR 13 GW in store!

102mm Under Your Boots. Take Me to the End of the World. There's a number that keeps coming up in conversations at the trailhead, in the lift line, in the parking lot while boots are still being buckled. 102mm. Waist width. The kind of ski that used to mean "powder specialty," but has quietly become something else entirely: a daily driver for people who stopped caring about groomed runs. This is the sweet spot where touring skis stopped making compromises. Narrow enough to edge on firm spring snow, wide enough to float when the snowpack gives you something real. You're not fighting the ski. You're not babying it either. It just goes where you point it, and it brings you back. The shift happened gradually. Lightweight constructions got better. Binding systems got smarter. The gap between a dedicated touring ski and a resort ski narrowed until, at 102mm, it almost disappeared. What remained was the reason you were out there in the first place: the climb, the silence, the line you chose yourself. "Emporte-moi au bout du monde." Take me to the end of the world. That's what a good ski whispers when you strap in at 6am and look up at a ridge nobody else is going to reach today. It's not metaphor. It's function. A 102mm waist touring ski exists for exactly that, to carry you further than lifts go, into terrain that asks something of you, and to bring you back down with the kind of descent you'll describe badly to anyone who wasn't there. The grrr is real. That feeling when the ski bites into a wind-loaded slope and holds, when the tail releases just enough to let you pivot, when the whole system, your legs, the ski, the mountain, arrives at something like an agreement. It's not grace exactly. It's competence at speed, and it's deeply satisfying. 102mm isn't a trend. It's a conclusion. ________________________________________ Inspired by a conversation between skis, mountains, and the people who refuse to take the easy way down.

The detail that changes everything. More happens between your binding and ski than most people realize. A high-quality aluminum interface plate increases torsional stiffness, reduces energy loss, and delivers a more direct, precise feel — noticeable from the very first turn. 📩 Drop us a E-Mail for more info.
