Essa fibra vem do abacá (Musa textilis), uma espécie de bananeira cultivada principalmente nas Filipinas, que produzem cerca de 85% do abacá mundial.
A planta cresce sem necessidade de irrigação intensiva nem pesticidas, e gera uma fibra natural muito resistente — podendo ser até 3x mais forte que o algodão, além de ser biodegradável.
O processo funciona assim:
a fibra é extraída nas Filipinas, processada em Taiwan e transformada em tecido na China, em polos têxteis como Huizhou.
Esse material é a base do Bananatex, considerado o primeiro tecido técnico feito a partir de plantas da família da banana.
Apesar de já existirem tecidos com aparência de jeans, é importante entender:
isso ainda não é o denim tradicional que estamos acostumados, mas sim uma alternativa mais sustentável que está começando a ganhar espaço na indústria.
Apesar de parecer nova, a fibra de bananeira já é usada há muitos anos em artesanatos e fios.

Eastern browns are fast—but not aggressive. When an eastern brown snake feels threatened and can’t escape, it may use a defensive charge as a last resort. This sudden forward movement is meant to scare off the perceived threat, not to attack. Often, it’s a bluff designed to create space so the snake can retreat.
Understanding this behavior is key, most bites occur when snakes are surprised, cornered, or deliberately interfered with. Give them distance, stay calm, and they’ll usually choose escape over confrontation.

HOThe final part of my small natural pond cleanup was the repotting of my Cyperus Textilis. These are great plants to add to your ponds as they filter the water absorbing nitrogen, phosphates, heavy metals, and pollutants.
