_RIt’s so hard to find the final words to say about a show and a family of people that have been part of my life for 10 years.
The chance to celebrate the show for two weeks has been amazing and to be there for the final show was something I’ll always be grateful for.
But even after all the goodbyes, last night didn’t feel real for any of us.
This is truly the best show I’ve ever worked on and I think most of the people who’ve had anything to do with it would say the same.
That’s why it doesn’t feel real.
Not because we don’t understand the economics of TV but because it seems impossible that something that felt like that show did to work on isn’t going to be here anymore.
It’s a loss for Australian TV and it’s a loss for all of those who had the privilege of working on it.
Especially the people behind the scenes who busted their arses 6 days a week to get a show to air that was as consistently high quality as @theprojecttv was.
This show has given me the opportunity to work in a way I wasn’t sure was possible in this business and I don’t know if I’ll ever get an opportunity like that again.
It also gifted me life long friends who I might never have met otherwise but I couldn’t be more grateful for.
Thank you to the whole team for everything you did to make us look good each night. Thank you to the hosts I worked with over the years who made the high wire of live television an absolute joy.
And thank you to everyone who spent time with us each night in your living room.
(Also thank you for putting up with me crying on almost every show 😂)
