1. Identify a trending niche / category 💡
Check out trend aggregator sites like Trend Hunter, Google Trends or Trends.co or DTC brandspo sites like @thingtesting or @commerce.cream.
2. Look at negative competitor reviews to fix pain points 🗯
Go on reviews sites like Trust Pilot, Product Review or marketplaces with Amazon with open reviews, find the negative reviews (2-3 stars, usually 1 star ratings are just terrible customer service experiences), find the common pain points and fix them. Super simple.
3. Use an ad spy tool to find the most engaged ads in your niche 🚀
Ad engagement is a really great indicator of ad performance plus they wouldn’t be spending on the ad still of it wasn’t profitable (you’d hope). A few include BigSpy, PowerAdspy, Macaw, Social Ad Scout etc. This is one @daviefogarty showed me.

4. Spy on your competitors website traffic with SimilarWeb 👀
This is a great way not only to see the number of visitors they’re receiving but also where the majority of their referral traffic is coming from, giving you an inside look at their main acquisition channels. I’ve got their Chrome extension which is super handy!
