ROBelieve me! If you use AI the wrong way, your thinking does get weaker over time. Like a muscle that isn’t used.
Here’s the simple truth:
👉 If AI does your thinking for you → your intelligence slowly drops.
👉 If AI HELPS you think better → your intelligence grows.
The difference is how you use it.
Let me make it practical.
Bad use (very common):
Copy. Paste. Done.
No thinking. No checking. No learning.
That’s like using a calculator for 2 + 2 every day
Smart use:
• Ask AI for ideas → then choose your own
• Ask for examples → then create your own version
• Ask for feedback → then improve your thinking
This is where the magic happens.
I always say this to my clients:
“AI should be your coach, not your crutch.”
If someone only copies AI answers, they lose:
• critical thinking
• creativity
• confidence in their own voice
But if they engage with AI, they gain:
• clearer thinking
• faster learning
• better communication
A simple habit that works well:
➡️ First, think on your own (even for 2 minutes)
➡️ Then use AI to compare, expand, improve
➡️ Then rewrite in your own words
That last step is GOLD. That’s where real learning happens.
For ENGLISH learners, this is especially important.
You need to struggle a little.
STRUGGLING a little is how language sticks.
So my honest opinion?
AI won’t make people less intelligent.
But lazy use of AI absolutely will.
Used well, it can actually make people smarter than ever.
