It features a beautiful flower found along the shores of Ireland. 🌼 . The sweater is knit using their Clarendon Sock base, a luxurious fingering weight yarn. The colorwork continues past the sleeve separation, and because of the long floats in this organic, asymmetric motif, ladderback jacquard is recommended. I find it very relaxing and I love watching the images slowly emerge! It also gives me lots of time to plan my next motif/color combination 😂 P.S. This is how I knit colorwork! I hold a single strand of yarn in my right hand and drop it each time I make a color change. It’s a lot of dropping/picking up but it’s the most comfortable way for me and creates the most even tension. Do what works for you! There’s no right or wrong way to knit 💕 Also pardon my pink thumb. This batch of gloves has holes so it’s a surprise each day which one of my fingers will end up fun colored 🫠 It’s the most wonderful time of the year! For this hat you’ll need: • 1 skein of Be Me by @thewoolcatcher (100 g / 120 m) • 6 mm circular needles, 50 cm 1️⃣ Cast on Cast on 68 stitches using a stretchy cast-on method. Join in the round. 2️⃣ Ribbing Knit 2×2 rib (K2, P2) for about 59 rounds or 31 cm. This creates a beautiful folded brim and a perfect fit. 3️⃣ Decreases Now we shape the top of the hat: • Second-to-last round: Work the ribbing with decreases: – Knit 2 stitches together (K2tog) – Purl 2 stitches together (P2tog) Repeat to the end of the round. You now have 34 stitches. • Last round: Knit 2 stitches together all the way around. You now have 17 stitches. 4️⃣ Finishing Cut the yarn, thread it onto a needle, pull it through all remaining stitches, and tighten the top. Sew the crown closed, weave in the ends — and your hat is ready! Warm, simple, quick… and knitted with your own hands 🤍 Try making one yourself! As with all the previous floral patterns, the organic and asymmetrical motifs mean there’ll likely be some extra-long floats in certain areas. That’s where the ladderback jacquard method comes in handy! Don’t worry if it’s new to you—the patterns include a detailed explanation of the technique, video demos, and specially designed charts marking suggested ladderback placements to make it easy.🤓 . For this project, I used the luxurious Clarendon Sock yarn in Flat White as main colour and a bespoke contrast colourway called Sea Aster. 🥰 .
