Myths about worms in kids - specifically Threadworm
1. Anyone can be infected - As infection with threadworm occurs via ingestion of eggs from contaminated food, hands, toys or breathing air
2. Human's are the only known host for threadworms and they cannot survive in the gastrointestinal tract of family pets 😻
3. Yes, the kids can still play outside and with other friends. While prevention of reinfection is paramount when dealing with a current infection, as long as the children wash their hands with warm soap water after playing
4. Just because one family membery has evidence of worms, this doesn't mean everyone else in the family will be affected.
5. Children and adults can still be affected without having this telltale sign of itchy either the anus or the vagina.
