This is one of the most commonly used set ups in the lighting world.
As the name suggests this method uses three light sources to shoot your subject.
These three lights are the key light, fill light, and back light.
The key light is the brightest and the most important light of the three.This light illuminates your subject and provides the main lighting element in the scene. Key lights are typically placed at a 45-degree angle to the subject’s face.
The fill light is the second light, and as the name implies, it is used to fill in the shadows left behind by the key light. The fill light typically has less intensity to create a more natural-looking lighting effect.
The back light is the third light in the setup, and it’s positioned at the back of your subject. The key role of the back light is to separate your subject from the background and create a more three-dimensional look.
