Why this can happen ⬇️ • Loss of the outer eyebrows → slowed hair growth from low thyroid hormone 💇‍♀️ • Puffy, rounded cheeks → fluid retention and slower metabolism 🌝 • Very cold hands and feet → reduced circulation and heat production 🧊 • Very dry skin → lower oil production 🧴 • Deep ridges in nails → nutrient deficiencies💅 Many of these signs can also be influenced by stress hormones, blood sugar imbalances, nutrient deficiencies and immune dysfunction, all factors that impact thyroid health. Visible signs to check thyroid levels include unexplained weight changes, fatigue, anxiety, dry or oily skin, hair loss, brittle nails, neck swelling, irregular heartbeat, temperature sensitivity, menstrual irregularities, and difficulty swallowing. Puffy face, hoarseness, tremors, muscle weakness, and digestive changes (constipation or diarrhea) may also occur. Persistent symptoms warrant testing for hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. #hyperthyroidism #hypothyroidism #thyroid #thyroidhealth #health #hair #nails #skincare #dryskin #foryou #foryourpage #fyp

Comment GUT1 to download gut health guide Low ferritin may cause skin and hair-related symptoms, including dark under-eye circles, hair thinning, brittle nails, pale or dry skin, slow wound healing, itching, and a higher risk of skin infections or dermatitis. consider optimal ferritin to be around 110 ng/mL (in women) for good energy, thyroid function, and especially for hair growth. #anemia #irondeficiency #darkcircles #skintexture #hairthinning #hairloss #nailhealth #nails #hair #skincare #pcos #thyroid #autoimmune

💅If the ridges are present in all or most nails, it can be a sign of systemic illness or chemotherapy. 💅Ridges are not permanent and will grow out once the offending agent is removed (pushing cuticles back, illness, chemotherapy). 💅Fingernails take 6 months to grow up while toenails can take up to 12-18 months. 💅 Apply hand cream and petrolatum to cuticles nightly and stop trauma to cuticles for the nails to grow out healthy. #nailsnailsnails #nails #naildamage #onychodystrophy #dermatologia #dermatologist #nailsofinstagram #fyp #cuticles #chemotherapy #thyroid

Low thyroid activity doesn’t just affect one thing, it affects your entire body 👀 Dry skin that won’t improve Hair thinning or falling out Puffy face or swelling Brittle nails Constant fatigue… These symptoms might seem random, but they’re often signs of hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s. Your thyroid controls metabolism, skin turnover, hair growth, and fluid balance. When it slows down, everything slows down with it. This is why you might feel off for months or years before getting real answers. The goal isn’t to ignore symptoms or cover them up it’s to understand what your body is trying to tell you Supporting your thyroid with proper nutrition, stable blood sugar, key nutrients, and lowering inflammation can make a huge difference over time. Your symptoms are signals, not coincidences. Original video credits: dr.mehss (TT) #hashimotos #hypothyroidism #thyroidhealth #autoimmunehealing #womenshealth

Believe it or not, your nails can tell you a lot about your internal health. They offer crucial clues about what’s going on inside your body, especially when it comes to nutrient deficiencies. For instance, vertical ridges on your nails could indicate a slow thyroid, but they could also mean a vitamin B12 or iron deficiency. Fungus on your nails, identifiable by a yellowish discoloration, is an indication of low biotin because of an imbalance in your gut. If your nails have little white spots, it could be due to a zinc deficiency. This is common, as refined carbohydrates and sugar deplete zinc. Horizontal thin white lines near the base of the nails are indicative of low calcium. Thicker white lines in a different location are usually because of a vitamin B3 (niacin) deficiency. If your nails are slightly brown or grey, it could be low B12. This is especially true if you are a vegan, as B12 comes from animal products. And if your nails are mostly white with a pink strip across the top, it could also be low B12. If they are completely white or blue, it could be low B1. If you found this information helpful, don’t forget to share it with someone who might benefit from it too. Follow @‌drericberg for more! #drberg #health #nutrition #nails

i took a few months off from supplementing and watched my ferritin drop to 45, and then watched one of my nails snap right off after months of them finally growing long and strong. this is exactly what happens when vitamin d and ferritin drop, even slightly, even technically within “normal” range. your body deprioritizes hair and nail growth the second these two levels fall below optimal. not below “normal.” optimal. this is why they matter so much: ferritin is your iron storage. when it drops below 70, even if your doctor says you’re “normal,” your body pulls iron away from non-essential structures first. your nails. your hair follicles. vitamin d regulates the entire hair follicle cycle. without enough of it, follicles stall in the resting phase and keratin production slows down. keratin is the protein your nails and hair are literally made of. so if you’re breaking, peeling, shedding, or your growth has just stalled, check these two numbers before you blame genetics or stress. optimal ferritin: 70-100+ optimal vitamin d: 60-80 ng/mL not “normal.” optimal ✨ as a functional medicine practitioner who learned this the hard way, these are two of the first things i address with every client dealing with hair loss or brittle nails. comment BUNDLE below and make sure you’re following so i can dm you my thyroid healing bundle, it covers the exact labs, ranges, and protocols i use personally that got my hair & nails growing long and strong again 🫶 #gravesdisease #graveseyedisease #functionalmedicine #thyroideyedisease #hashimotos not medical advice, educational purposes only.

COMMENT ‘THYROID’ - Look at your nails. • No little moons (lunula)? • Deep vertical ridges? • Splitting, peeling, brittle edges? • Slow growth? Your thyroid might be whispering for help. LIKE + SHARE + SAVE + FOLLOW FOLLOW BACKUP @alchemistyrising.shadow FOLLOW @westinchilds Your thyroid controls metabolism, circulation, temperature, hair, skin… and yes — nail growth. When T3 is low or conversion from T4 → T3 is sluggish, the body conserves energy. Nails are one of the first places it shows. And here’s what most people miss: Thyroid issues are rarely just “a thyroid problem.” They’re often a mineral + methylation problem. ✨ RISE supports methylation with bioavailable B vitamins that help your body properly convert and produce active T3. It also supports the brain + nervous system — and your thyroid is directly regulated by the brain (HPA axis matters). ✨ VIBE (Source) replenishes trace minerals your thyroid literally cannot function without: • Iodine (trace, balanced amounts) • Selenium • Magnesium • Zinc These minerals are required for hormone production and conversion. Without them? The thyroid struggles. And here’s the part no one talks about… These are frequency-charged nutrients. The harmonic frequencies help the body recognize and utilize the minerals more efficiently at a cellular level — not just pass them through like expensive pee. When the terrain is supported… The thyroid doesn’t have to scream. Your body knows how to balance — it just needs the right inputs.
