There's so much I tried to anticipate as a first-time participant... how to handle the randomizer, memorizing where all the ingredients were, figuring out how best to use that giant kitchen... but what I didn't anticipate was the tremendous bonding that happens when you're with a crew of open-hearted chefs who are doing the same thing as you are: putting yourself out there with vulnerability and courage, and leaving nothing off that plate.
