Docking State Office Building in Topeka, the state capital. Inspired by the beautiful and ever-changing Kansas sky, Astra appears to float like a cloud or nebula. Soft pinks and deep blues move through its transparent layers, creating a luminous presence that shifts with light and motion. As people walk beneath and around it, Astra changes, capturing the fleeting and the ephemeral. The mirrored ceiling above extends the work upward. Astra was unveiled during the building’s inauguration with Governor Laura Kelly, state senators, the Mayor of Topeka, and other dignitaries. It stands as a symbol of openness and aspiration within this important civic building.
