Chuaigh siad go mór i bhfeidhm ar an lucht féachana ar The Late Late Show, áit ar chas siad leagan draochtúil den chaoineadh Anach Cuain. Bhí an clár ag teacht go mór le meon na tíre agus roinn na mílte ar fud an domhain an físeán.

Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta were born and raised in the Connemara area, which is renowned for its richness of music, singing, culture and language. They made a huge impact on the audience on “The Late Late Show”, where they performed a magical version of the lament “Anach Cuain”. The show was very much in tune with the spirit of the country and the video was shared by thousands around the world.
The pair have gained recognition for their sean-nós singing (singing in Irish that is mostly sung without accompaniment) and their unique arrangements of songs in both Irish and English. They are particularly interested in harmonies and their family ties and relationships help them achieve this. They are both talented musicians, dancers and songwriters who have won numerous All-Ireland titles. Their main goal is to keep their language and heritage at the heart of their music.

Bu bir yılda -ve önümüzdeki uzun yıllar boyunca- Tomo’nun özellikle edebiyatla ama aslında sanatın her dalıyla ördüğü görünmez bağların, Aras mirasının ve Yesayan Derneği’ndeki arşivinin bize söyleyecek daha çok sözü, anlatacak daha çok hikâyesi olduğuna inanıyoruz.
Onun görünür görünmez etkisinin bir yansıması olarak, vefatının birinci yılında Tomo’yu bu videoyla anmak istedik.
Yıl 2000. Sayat Nova Korosu, Djivan Gasparian’ın Türkiye’deki ilk konserini vesile bilip ustayı Boyacıköy’deki bahçelerine davet ediyor. Davetliler arasında Hasan Saltık, Erkan Oğur, Hrant Dink, Kardeş Türküler ve daha pek çok tanıdık sima var. Tam bir şenlik havası… Sanki herkes hep oradaymış gibi; kalabalık, konuklar, bir yandan da hafif bir telaş. Gasparian o gece birçok şarkı söylüyor, dudukunu konuşturuyor. Gecenin bir anında Sayat Nova’dan “Tamam Aşkhar”ı seslendirmeye karar veriyor. Öncesinde şarkının hikâyesini anlatmaya başlıyor. Djivan anlatıyor, Tomo çeviriyor. Biz Tomo’yu hiç görmüyoruz. Derken hikâyede bir duraksama… Yanlış çeviri, bir tutukluk. Djivan devam ediyor. Tomo ise bir sonraki cümlede kıvrak zekâsıyla hem hikâyeyi hem kendi küçük çeviri hatasını aynı düzlemde buluşturmayı başarıyor ve o tanıdık, şen kahkahasını atıyor. Ardından hep birlikte şarkı söyleniyor; sesler birbirine karışıyor, çocuklar etrafta koşturuyor ve dünya birkaç dakikalığına güzelleşiyor. Muhtemelen Tomo, geceyi yine kaybettiği ayakkabılarını arayarak tamamlıyor.
Tomo’nun aramızdan ayrılışının birinci yılında, onu, sesinin ve kahkahasının hâlâ içimizde yankılandığını bilerek kendisinin de çok sevdiği Sayat Nova’dan “Tamam Aşkhar Bıdud Ega”yla anıyoruz.
