Types of Phrases: 1. Noun Phrase Acts like a noun ✔ Example: The boy with a blue shirt is my friend. 2. Verb Phrase Contains a verb and its helping verbs ✔ Example: She is going to school. 3. Adjective Phrase Describes a noun ✔ Example: The girl with long hair is my sister. 4. Adverb Phrase Modifies a verb ✔ Example: He runs very quickly. 5. Prepositional Phrase Starts with a preposition ✔ Example: The book on the table is mine. Key Points of Phrase: No subject + verb combination Does not give complete meaning Used as a part of a sentence 2. Clause (उपवाक्य) Definition: A clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a verb and may or may not give complete meaning. 👉 In simple words: Clause = group of words with subject + verb Examples: She is happy. ✔ (Complete clause) When he came ❌ (Incomplete clause) Types of Clauses: A.
