SRUsed Oil Illegal Collection Racket Busted in Madhapur
Madhapur, Hyderabad:
TPYC State Social Media Co-Convenor Durgam Srihari Goud identified and exposed a suspicious auto-rickshaw allegedly involved in the illegal collection and resale of used cooking oil from local restaurants in Madhapur.
Upon noticing the suspicious activity, Srihari Goud questioned the individuals operating the vehicle about the purpose of collecting the used oil. Initially, the persons gave unclear responses, but later admitted that they were collecting used oil from restaurants at around ₹20 per litre and reselling it to street vendors for approximately ₹70 per litre, making a profit of ₹50.
When asked to produce legal permissions or licenses for such operations, the individuals failed to provide any valid documentation. It was also found that the vehicle involved was registered in Karnataka, raising further suspicion.
Highlighting the potential public health risk and illegality of the activity, durgam Srihari Goud immediately alerted the authorities, stating that such practices are dangerous and unacceptable.
Acting promptly, the Madhapur Police along with SOT (Special Operations Team) reached the spot, detained the individuals, and registered a case for further investigation.
Authorities are now probing the matter to uncover the extent of the illegal used oil supply chain and its impact on public health.
