A surgeon once told me not to go to med school because, “What would it change…what do you want to do….that you don’t do already?” It stuck with me. Not because it discouraged me but because it clarified things. I love what I do. And in the years ahead, I’ll be surrounded by some of the kindest, smartest, most purposeful people I’ll ever meet all working toward the same goal: better patient care and better outcomes. And it will grow into something pretty awesome. 😊 Sometimes advice doesn’t stop you. It sharpens your direction. #povreels #careershift #medschool.

unpopular opinions about life during medical training 🩺📚 Being tired does not equate to laziness. Exhaustion is not a badge of honor. We need to stop glamorizing long hours. FOMO culture has to g o. We too old and busy for this sh!t. Be content with your present self. You are always a work in progress but appreciate how far you’ve come. Your time is precious. Spend it with people who fill your cup. The days are long, but the years go by fast. In the end, this will just be a snippet of your medical career. Be intentional about who you trust. Unfortunately not everyone wants to see you succeed. There is room for everyone. Root for your colleagues. Help them. Rotting in bed all day on your day off is 100% self care. People will meet you only as deeply as they’ve met themselves. Your intuition counts — even in medicine. Take up space. It’s o k a y to take up space. It’s okay not to know things. In fact — you will learn and you will forget. and that’s part of training. Training years will be HARD. There will be a l o t of sacrifice. It’s still your life — try to make the most of it. Some days you’ll hate work even if you love your career. It doesn’t mean pursuing medicine was a mistake. Vent in safe spaces. Let it out when it gets too much. But sometimes, pushing through quietly makes it less insufferable. You’re not behind. You’re building something long-term. Don’t lose sight of who and what is important. #medicine #honesttruths #doctor #medstudent

keep going. someone out there needs your example. I know I needed my role models to get me to where I am today. you never know who’s watching you and thinking, “if she can do it, maybe I can too.” I know when things get hard, the easiest thing to do is to just stop. to convince yourself it’s not for you. to tell yourself you don’t care that much anyway. but sometimes the only difference between the people who make it and the people who don’t is just… not quitting. not being the smartest. not being the most confident. just staying in it. keep going. even if it’s slower than you wanted. even if it’s messier than you expected. you might be the reason someone else decides to try again tomorrow :) #MedStudentLife, #WomenInMedicine, #MedicalSchoolJourney, #FuturePhysician, #ClinicalRotations quiet resilience, steady discipline, long term consistency, personal growth, hard work paying off, staying committed, mental endurance, embracing the process, small daily progress, pushing through doubt

💪🏼 I worked in the NHS for 10 years. This is what actually works if you want to stay fit while working in healthcare. Starting from zero in a busy clinical role doesn’t mean doing everything. It means doing the right few things consistently, even during chaotic weeks. 1️⃣ Build the habit before the "perfect" programme. 2-3 realistic sessions per week beats a “perfect” split you can’t maintain during long shifts. Early on, your goal isn’t PBs. It’s repeatability. Pick days you can stick to, even when you finish late and you’re exhausted. You could even choose to train just on your days off. 2️⃣ Focus on minimum effective sessions. When time is tight, keep it simple. One lower body movement. One push. One pull. 20 to 30 minutes done effectively still moves you forward. 3️⃣ Don’t let missed days turn into weeks. Missed sessions happen in healthcare. The only rule is don’t miss the next one. Shorten the workout if needed, but protect the routine. Momentum matters more than perfection. 4️⃣ Match training to your energy Heavy clinical day? Adjust. Not every session needs to be maximal. Train hard when you’re recovered, maintain when you’re not. 5️⃣ Treat recovery as part of the plan. Protein. Home cooked meals. Hydration. Sleep where you can. You cannot out-train chronic fatigue. Healthcare is demanding enough. Your training should support the job, not compete with it. If you’re a healthcare professional and you want a plan built around your shifts - Apply for my 1:1 coaching via the link in my bio. Structured. Adaptable. Designed for real NHS life.

No in person classes so it was a double training day yesterday🫦 I lovveeee exercising in the morning before a day of uni bc I always feel way more productive and I also feel a lot more relaxed in the afternoon bc I know I don’t have to go anywhere and I can use as much time as I need to study (or just relax)! Next time I do a DITL I’ll make sure it’s on an in-person class day and take you with me! (just gotta get over my fear of filming in public rq tho lol)🫣🤸🏼‍♂️ • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • #medstudentroutine #medschoollife #fitnessmotivation #dayinthelife #studentroutine
