Alexander, known as “Alex,” is 31, from Lakewood, NY, and currently training at Linemen Institute of the North East. His dad was a lineman. Growing up watching that work up close is what first pulled him in, and now he’s here doing it for himself. He chose Linemen Institute after doing his research and looking at programs side by side. The instructor-to-student ratio stood out, and he liked knowing he would get more guidance while he trains. Outside training, he’s into hunting and anything that keeps him outdoors. On the yard, his favorite part so far is learning how all the electrical pieces come together to power houses and businesses. He likes seeing how each part plays a role. Next goal: earn an apprenticeship. More student spotlights coming. #linemeninstitute #linemeninstituteofthenortheast #studentspotlight #lineworker #linemanschool #electricallinework #linemantraining

Troy is 34, from Buffalo, NY, and currently training at Linemen Institute of the North East. He likes working outside with other people and doing something new every day. He also knows the work matters, because power will always be needed. He chose Linemen Institute because it’s close to home, and the smaller class size makes a difference. More time with instructors. More feedback. More chances to ask questions and keep improving. Troy also wants to stay in the Northeast after graduation, and he’s focused on building the right connections while he’s here. Outside training, he’s into soccer, video games, going to Buffalo Bills games, and getting outside for frisbee golf and tennis. On the yard, his favorite part so far is simple: the instructors are laid back, and the environment helps you learn. Next goal: earn an apprenticeship as soon as possible. #LinemenInstitute #LinemenInstituteOfTheNorthEast #StudentSpotlight #Lineworker #LinemanSchool #ElectricalLinework #PoleYard #LinemanTraining

Student Spotlight: Brandon Kelly. Brandon is inspired by family friends who built successful careers they genuinely enjoy. That is what first pulled him toward this path. He wanted work that feels meaningful, with challenge and reward, and a future that supports stability. He chose Linemen Institute because it’s close enough to get home on weekends and stay connected to his family. Outside training, he’s into snowboarding, working on cars, and drag racing. He says those hobbies fit him because they are hands-on and push him to improve. At Linemen Institute of the North East, his favorite part so far has been meeting new people, the personalized instruction from the instructors, and the stories they share along the way. Next goal: purchase a home, own a reliable truck, and eventually start a family. More student spotlights coming. #LinemenInstitute #LinemenInstituteOfTheNorthEast #StudentSpotlight #Lineworker #LinemanSchool #ElectricalLinework #PoleYard #LinemanTraining

He wanted a career that keeps him active, stays hands-on, and gives him something he can keep improving at every week. He chose Linemen Institute after a lineman he knows recommended the program. Bradley did his research, looked at his options, and decided this was the right place to commit. Outside training, he’s into snowboarding and casino nights. On the yard, his favorite part so far is working with the instructors and learning directly from them. Next goal: get hired and get to work. Student Spotlight: Ethan Corey. Ethan is 22, from Pittsford, Vermont, and currently training at L.I.N.E. His first real introduction to this line of work came on storm while he was doing tree work. Seeing what goes into getting things back up made him want to be part of it. He chose Linemen Institute because the program is climbing-focused and hands-on. Ethan says he learns best by doing, and that’s what he wanted from day one. Outside training, he’s into hunting, fishing, and wheeling. On the yard, his favorite part so far is simple: climbing, hands-on work, and a good group of people and instructors. Next goal: get hired, work as much as possible, live comfortable, and retire early to enjoy life. More student spotlights coming. #LinemenInstitute #LinemenInstituteOfTheNorthEast #StudentSpotlight #Lineworker #LinemanSchool #ElectricalLinework #PoleYard #LinemanTraining

Student Spotlight: John Hansen. John is 18, from Hopewell Junction, NY, and currently training at Linemen Institute of the North East. His first real introduction to the program was simple. He came on a field trip, saw the yard, and thought it looked like a lot of fun. That was enough to get him interested, and he followed it up by taking the next step and enrolling. He chose LINE because he kept hearing how much climbing students do here, and because it’s close to home, which makes it easier to stay consistent while he trains. Outside training, he’s into bowling, video games, and catching up on sleep. On the yard, his favorite part so far is climbing and being outside when it’s not too cold. Next goal: get hired, then buy a house. #LinemenInstitute #LinemenInstituteOfTheNorthEast #StudentSpotlight #Lineworker #LinemanSchool #ElectricalLinework #PoleYard #LinemanTraining
