What is it? THE DOODLING METHOD. The doodling method consists of scribbling with your non-dominant hand while studying or memorizing - it’s a memorization technique that forces your brain to slow down and pay closer attention. Because that hand feels awkward, your brain has to work harder, which increases focus and reduces mind-wandering. This extra effort creates stronger neural connections linked to what you’re learning. While doodling, you’re engaging both motor activity and visual processing, which helps encode information more deeply. The doodles don’t need to be artistic or detailed to be effective. What matters is that the movement keeps you mentally present with the material. Your recall is often better than with passive note-taking or reading😌

🛑 BREAK UP with ineffective study habits! Embrace active recall to strengthen your memory and spaced repetition to cement what you’ve learned before exams. Don’t be fooled—passive studying feels productive but barely helps. Test yourself instead for real results. The secret to acing exams? Studying strategically, not endlessly. Active recall transforms how your brain retains information.

This study method was quietly discouraged in Japan after students began outperforming benchmarks at scale. It’s called the Shadow Study Technique, and it works because it attacks memory before comfort sets in. Step one: read only headings and subheadings — no notes, no highlighting. Step two: close the book and write what each section means from memory. You will feel wrong. That’s the point. Step three: reopen the text and fill the gaps. By forcing recall before full understanding, you trigger the brain’s strongest mechanism: active retrieval. The brain hates missing information, so it flags gaps as urgent and locks them in harder. Traditional studying is passive — you recognize, not remember. This method creates friction, and friction builds stronger neural pathways. Students using it memorized textbooks in nearly half the time and retained more under pressure. Schools didn’t suppress it because it failed. They discouraged it because it worked too well — and broke the curve. We post one powerful insight daily.

Use my secret method (M.E.M.O.R.Y) to remember everything you study more easily⤵️ M - Music and Rhythm: Set information to a melody or beat. Music can help you remember things more easily, just like how you remember the lyrics to your favorite songs. E - Elaborate: This technique involves explaining a concept in the simplest way possible, as if you’re teaching it to a child. This helps you find any gaps in your understanding and strengthens your memory. M - Mnemonics: Study with a specific scent or flavor around, and then use it again when trying to recall the information. The scent or taste can help trigger your memory. O - Organize: Instead of focusing on one topic for a long time, switch between different subjects or types of problems. This approach helps your brain adapt and improves learning and memory. ⚠️ Comment “planner” to send you my free digital planner to organize your studies. R - Recall: Writing notes by hand, rather than typing, activates different brain areas. The physical act of writing helps encode the information more deeply into memory. Y - Yawn: Study a difficult concept before taking a short nap or listening to sleep hypnosis. Sleep helps consolidate memories, and a brief nap (20-30 minutes) can boost memory retention. This is the secret to NEVER forget anything 🧠 Use my easy 6-step R.E.C.A.L.L method to remember EVERYTHING you read quickly and easily ⬇️💯 R - Repetition The BEST scientifically proven memory hack is to use spaced repetition to improve your memory. This will combat the forgetting curve so you NEVER forget anything you read. 🧠 E - Encoding Deep encoding is the key to building a stronger long term memory! Use the Feynman technique to teach others what you are trying to remember. This will help you organise information better and boost your memory! 👩🏽‍🎓 C - Chunking Break down large amounts of information into a form that can be easily remembered! Organise content into meaningful groups using Mnemonics and acronyms like what I’ve done with ‘RECALL’ to make remembering easier ❤️ A - Active Recall Use this scientifically proven technique to learn faster and remember more of what you read. Immediately after you study write down everything important on a blank piece of paper. 📝✅ L - Loci Method The method of Loci, also known as the memory palace technique is one of the LEAST understood memory methods! To use it, mentally associate what you want to remember with objects in your bedroom or house. Then when you want to recall what you know simply look around your bedroom or house in your mind in the exam 💯🏡🤯 L - Liminal Processing Liminal processing is one of the most powerful yet little known methods to develop a strong memory! To use it, immediately enter a state of deep rest after learning. You can take a short nap, meditate or use deep breathing for 10-15 minutes 🧘🏼‍♀️ I taught James (year 12) RECALL and he scored 94%+ in 4 of his final exams! 👩🏽‍🎓💯 COMMENT “Recall” and I’ll send you 7 FREE Courses with a FREE trial to the Smart Student Academy! You’ll get all my proven strategies to score straight A’s without the hard work ❤️👩🏽‍🎓 #study #studyhacks #studygram

Have you had this happen in your practice? 🤔 This video is a little long, but I feel like it needed to be. 🤓 I see so much about “releasing trauma” 🪄✨online these days and I felt like it needed to be addressed as it can be quite dangerous. Because… When someone has a strong reaction, you have likely brought something up from their subconscious to their conscious mind. 🧠 This does not mean the problem is solved or the trauma has been released. 🚫✨ Research on crying is limited, but we do know that not everyone feels better afterwards. It’s a good idea to discuss bringing a mental health professional onboard if they don’t already have one to do the work of processing this emotion that may have been buried deep for some time. I’d love to hear your experiences with this, feel free to share in the caption ⬇️⬇️⬇️ #physicaltherapy #painscience #chronicpain #physiotherapy #painscienceeducation #physicaltherapist #painmanagement #patientcare #dptstudents #manualtherapy #massage #emotionrelease #subconscious

To be clear, I’m not saying people with ADHD are incapable of missing others or that we’re psychopaths or heartless. It’s just that our brains work differently. Because of ADHD object permanence, we don’t always hold onto the feeling of missing someone in the background. Our minds are so pulled into the present moment that unless we’re actively thinking about it, that sense of ‘I miss them’ can fade. But when we do think about it, it can hit really deeply. It’s not about not caring — it’s just how ADHD attention works.” #adhd #neurodivergent #adhdhelp #audhd #adhdcheck #adhdawareness #ADHDTrait
