The ceremony was graced by the Chancellor of UBD, His Majesty Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and the Pro-Chancellor of UBD, His Royal Highness Crown Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah.

UBTo celebrate the 35th Universiti Brunei Darussalam convocation, Pesta Konvo UBD 2023 kicked off on 14th August 2023.
The month-long festival was officially launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda (Dr. ) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Pro Chancellor of UBD. The opening ceremony was also attended by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education, Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD and prominent officials from government agencies.
Organised by the Student Affairs Section and UBD Students’ Association (PMUBD), this year’s Pesta Konvo showcases 4 art and technology projects by current and graduating students that show constructive ideas of youth, courage in involving themselves in various fields and industries as well as their spirit in innovating the country and shaping the country’s future.
The opening ceremony also saw the presentation of Pesambah from the Student Representative Council of UBD Students’ Association (PMUBD) to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
Among other things, the Khatam Al-Quran and thanksgiving prayer will be held on 16th August to bless the graduating students in their future endeavours. The Pesta Konvo is held yearly in the run-up to the Convocation Ceremony to celebrate UBD graduates’ success and achievements while showcasing ideas and creations by its current and graduating students. The 35th Convocation Ceremony is scheduled to take place on 21st August at the Chancellor Hall, in which graduates will receive their scrolls.

BOHis Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Chancellor of UBD presented certificates to graduates of University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) at the university’s 36th Convocation Ceremony on Monday.
Also gracing the ceremony was His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Pro-Chancellor of UBD.
This year saw a total of 1,158 graduates, consisting of 35 PhD graduates, 302 Master graduates, 787 Bachelor graduates from the 12th batch of UBD’s distinctive GenNEXT programme, as well as 34 Graduate Diploma recipients.
