When I was in basic training the first week, we were doing physical fitness at 4 am in 30+degree freezing rain and all of us were complaining. Then an Army officer with 2 prosthetic running blades replacing his real legs came walking down the steps. He had recently got blown up on a deployment and had to have those prosthetics from the knee down. Seeing this hit me like a ton of bricks, it hit all of us, and made us realize how our situation on that Pt field in the cold wasn’t that bad. During this 4 months of basic training we watched this officer go from struggling to walk with the prosthetics to full speed running because he worked hard every morning with perseverance. He didn’t have to be there every morning practicing to run. He could have used an excuse to never run again but the integrity and principles he kept in tact…That’s true courage. Read my shirt, it says 22. It stands for the daily average of 22 veterans who take their lives each day. Something that saddens me but fuels me. As Americans, we have been given the right to freedom and the pursuit of happiness from the sacrifice of true patriots. Remember this. Work hard to honor their memory. Quit whining about the littlest and most ignorant things. When I train in the gym, I wear this shirt as a reminder that I can always work harder and do more. This is just one example of using extrinsic motivation. I do this with phone lock screens, weekly motivational videos, or like this, wearing a shirt honoring the military or the veterans. Find ways to fuel motivation in everything you do so you do it fully.

We called our family & threw together a quick wedding before his departure. We got married on my mother in laws back porch, with 8 people present. We were surrounded by love & support but we didn’t get the full wedding experience with photos, like we wanted. I never got to wear a bridal gown or even try one on. For our 10 year anniversary, I wanted photos like it was our wedding day & I got just that 😭🥹 we were even able to have the kids involved, like our flower girls/junior bridesmaids and ring bearer. "Weeping For Humanity Sake" By Chesevah King “Thou shalt not kill.” Exodus 20:13 As a soldier in the US Army during basic training while completing weapons training I began weeping uncontrollably and I wept every time we went to the range. It must be noted prior to my entry into the Army I was a Certified Nurse's Assistant and a Medical Clerk. In fact my constant weeping kept me from being successful in passing weapons firing qualifications on the range. I never revealed to anyone that I wept because I did not want to end someone's existence because I was directly disobeying God and I did not want to carry the weight of that decision on my soul. I eventually did pass weapons qualifications but I was deeply troubled that I would be required to use a weapon against another human. You see it was when I went to the range and when I held that weapon in my hand I realized I had relinquished my rights to continue obeying God. I now had no rights to make God based decision in regards to humanity. I was now Government property. I wept and prayed and asked God to keep me from places that I might be required to disavow the Sixth Commandment. Thou shalt not kill. It just struck me one day that this is what you signed the dotted line to do. I simply did not connect the reality with me now being a soldier until that moment. God heard my cry and I did not have to go against the bible. When I completed Advanced Individualized Training as a Quartermaster instead of being shipped directly to Operation Desert Storm.... It was now over and I was sent to Baumholder Germany. There I worked in a warehouse from sunup to sundown with no days off as my warehouse received all parts and supplies from the units being disbanded. I simply cannot understand how in this country everyone is proclaiming God and using their so-called belief in God... On Dollar bills the slogan is " In God we Trust" and hanging on Court Walls You read , "In God We Trust. Yet they are disenfranchising all people especially people of color and turning a blind eye to world devastation. ☮️✌🏾🤲🏾📿🤔🙏🏾😢 #peace #healtheworld #armyveteran #Godhelpusall #deepthoughts
