Title: Create a 5-second time-lapse video of a Venus flytrap trapping an insect. Begin with a 1-second shot of the open flytrap. The next 3 seconds show the insect approaching and triggering the trap, followed by the rapid closing of the leaves. The time-lapse should compress several minutes or hours of real time into a few seconds. The final second shows the closed trap. @ai.art.fs #bloominbliss #venusflytrap #timelapse #carnivorousplant #nature #art #video #artistsoninstagram #trapping #insect #plant using: #pika

Did you know? A Venus flytrap doesn’t snap shut at random. Its trap only closes after sensing repeated touches, using electrical signals to confirm that the prey is alive and worth the energy cost. Speed matters, but precision matters more. After closing, the trap keeps adjusting. If movement continues inside, it seals tighter and releases digestive enzymes, turning the trap into a temporary stomach. This process can last days, showing that the Venus flytrap hunts with calculation, not instinct alone. The Venus flytrap is one of the fastest plants in the world — closing in about 0.1 seconds. Those tiny hairs inside the trap act like sensors. Trigger them twice, and the plant decides it’s worth the energy. After closing, it seals tightly and releases digestive enzymes, slowly breaking down its prey over several days. It doesn’t hunt for energy — it hunts for nutrients the soil can’t provide. Not magic… but it feels like it 🌿 #venusflytrapsofinstagram #carnivorousplantsofinstagram #plantmagic #witchythings #carnivorousplants

Inside the carnivorous plant greenhouses the venus fly traps are pushing out a ton of new growth. With all that new growth theres a ton of hungry traps just waiting to snatch a meal. Now even though this venus fly trap is a no name typical that I bought many years ago, come summer time she will push out some mammoth traps. Ill be excited for that because as of lately we have seen a ton of times where the black widow spider has been able to walk on top of those lashes. But even with the spiders antics lately, we still ended this one with a clean catch 🔥🔥🔥 #carnivorousplant #tropicalplants #venusflytrap #flytrap #nepenthes drosera sundew cephalotus sarracenia pitcherplant plants houseplants tropical exoticplants rareplants australianpitcherplant garden exotic asianpitcherplant stickyplant flowers greenhouse grow carnivore hungryplants greenthumb nature swamp capensis cephalotusfolicularis

Here’s how to make yours THRIVE! 🌱 Full sun or Strong Lighting 🚫 No tap water, ALWAYS Distilled, rain, or RO water 🪴 Use the right potting mix, the one in the video is my recommendation, but theres many variations found online. 🪏 Pot size matters! 3” deep pots work well for young plants while a 5” deep or deeper pot is best for larger plants. VFT roots grow down! 😴Venus fly traps need a dormancy during winter months to thrive every summer! Its important to keep them in cooler temperatures and supply less water during this time. Did you know? Carnivorous plants don’t close by touch alone. Venus flytraps snap shut only after their trigger hairs are touched multiple times, a built-in system to avoid wasting energy on rain or debris. Once closed, they digest insects with enzymes, absorbing nitrogen from their prey. #aureamotionlab #visualscience #Alcinema

3 essential things you need to know in order to keep your venus flytrap happy and healthy! 1. Soil 🪨 Make sure you switch out the normal soil that usually comes with it to carnivorous plant-friendly soil. You can find it on Amazon or make it yourself! They need nutrient-poor, acidic soil, an easy DIY mix is 50% sphagnum peat moss and 50%perlite. 2. Water 💧 Flytraps can only be watered with DISTILLED or rainwater, as regular water will kill them. They also need to be sitting in a bowl of water to mimic the conditions of their native bog habitats. 3. Sunlight☀️ While they say they can be kept indoors, they thrive in direct sunlight. Make sure they are not in the shade and can soak up the sun! #venusflytrap #plants #distilledwateronly

The Venus flytrap is a fascinating carnivorous plant found naturally in the wetlands of North and South Carolina, USA. It grows in nutrient-poor soil, so instead of relying only on the ground for food, it traps and eats insects. Its leaves are modified into jaw-like traps with tiny hair-like structures called trigger hairs. When an insect touches these hairs two or three times, the trap snaps shut within seconds. Once closed, the plant releases digestive enzymes that slowly break down the insect and absorb nutrients like nitrogen. After digestion, the trap opens again, leaving behind the insect’s hard shell. Each trap can close only a few times before it dies. The Venus flytrap shows how plants can adapt in surprising ways to survive in harsh environments. 🌱🪰 • Follow - @explainscience.ai • #instagram #study #studygram #education #student
