TOReading coffee is an ancient art that connects us to our past, present, and future ☕✨ The top of the cup reveals the present, the middle shows the near future, and the bottom unveils the distant future. Today, I spotted a rather stately gentleman in my cup… could it be King Charles? 👑 Surely, this is a sign that he needs to invite me to the palace for tea! 🫖👸

ANJedno od najživopisnijih kiparskih sela, nestvarno lepo i mirno sa svega stotinak stanovnika. Selo Lanja je po legendi nazvano po Lani, ćerki Dionisa, boga vina.
Miris cveta pomorandže se oseća na svakom koraku.
Poslednjih godina umetnici iz raznih zemalja Evrope su baš u selu Lanja renovirali stare kuće i od njih napravili umetničke ateljee.
Znam da je more za odmor, ali ako idete na Kipar obavezno svratite u Lanju koja se nalazi u oblasti Limasola.

Κυπριακός καφές (Cypriot coffee) ☕️ the tiny cup that packs a punch—rich, strong, and “muddy” at the bottom. It’s brewed in a briki, sipped slowly, and comes in three levels of commitment: glyki (sweet), metrio (medium), or sketo (straight strong). The secret to a perfect cup, slow simmer and a side of Greek dancing!😉 Enjoyed throughout the day but with a Cypriot breakfast of eggs, halloumi, olives, orange marmalade and Koulouri bread.

But the real magic happens after the last sip. Turn the cup upside down, let the coffee grounds settle, and suddenly, every thea (aunt) within a 10-mile radius is a fortune teller. One long line? You’re going on a trip! A cluster of dots? Money (Ριάλια, hence my Greek song choice) is coming your way! A smudge with a blob of grinds, probably just bad flipping on your part…😂

In all seriousness, the food in Cyprus was absolutely phenomonal. The cuisine is centered around fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that are transformed into simple, flavour-packed dishes.
If there’s one thing you absolutely have to do in Cyprus, it’s experience meze. This feast of small, shareable dishes is more than just delicious food. It’s a tradition that has been at the heart of Cypriot culture for centuries as a way of bringing people together.
Trust me when I say it is IMPOSSIBLE to walk away from a meze meal hungry.

IRTahinopita (ta-he-no-pita) a soft flaky chewy pastry made with tahini and cinnamon with a sweet syrup. This one is a true Cyprus representation and one I absolutely love. It’s nostalgic for me as it was one that we enjoyed on the beach growing up here. Back then, men on bicycles with a box attached carrying this addictive pastries would go up and down the beach selling them. You bet this one will be in my book. 🤎xx
