HAReally though - We’re so glad we made the move to the Tyler Texas area. Not familiar with East Texas? Allow me to share some of my favorite things
🌹 Tyler is known as the Rose Capital of America thanks to the massive Tyler Rose Garden, home to thousands of rose bushes.
🎉 The city hosts the annual Texas Rose Festival, a multi-day celebration with parades, pageantry, and tons of community events.
🌲 Tyler sits in the Piney Woods of East Texas — meaning tall trees, rolling hills, and way more greenery than most people expect in Texas.
🏞️ Just a short drive away is Tyler State Park, where you can hike, fish, camp, and kayak on a 64-acre spring-fed lake.
🐅 It’s home to the Caldwell Zoo, one of the most highly regarded small-city zoos in the country.
🎓 Tyler has a strong college presence thanks to The University of Texas at Tyler and Tyler Junior College.
🏥 The healthcare industry is huge here — Tyler is considered the medical hub of East Texas.
🐎 East Texas culture runs deep — you’ll find rodeos, ranch land, and strong agricultural roots throughout Smith County and nearby towns like Lindale and Whitehouse.
🎣 The area is a fishing hotspot, with Lake Palestine and Lake Fork just outside of town.
🎤 Nearby Lindale is the hometown of singer Miranda Lambert.
🛣️ Tyler is about 90 minutes east of Dallas, making it close enough for big-city access but far enough for a slower pace of life.
🌤️ The area gets all four seasons (yes, even a little fall color!) but keeps that mild East Texas climate most of the year.
