What if a map could become a musical instrument? 🗺️

This is an interactive Visual-Audio system where users can create music simply by navigating Google Maps—the geography itself shapes the sound.
•
For example: areas with more parks and mountains produce softer tones; oceans and rivers slow down the rhythm; regions dense with roads generate stronger resonance and industrial noise. When a map becomes a musical score, we can explore cities through sound to discover livable places.

This project aims to create a new form of performance, turning everyday life into music that anyone can play.
•
In #TouchDesigner, I use WebRender to capture live webpage visuals, then apply #ChromaKey to isolate green, blue, and gray areas. With #ToptoChop and #Analyze, I extract the area ratios of each color, limiting the total sum to 100 and smoothing out extreme values. These parameters are then sent via #OSC to #VCVRack for sound interaction.
