“This poster compares two big Tamil Nadu stars—MGR from 1977 and Vijay from 2026! MGR won his first big election with about 33.52 of the votes. Vijay, in his first election, had around 34.92% of the votes and won even more seats! MGR connected with people through love and service, while Vijay connected through vision and trust.” So, Vijay’s record was higher because he got about 34.92%—quite a strong start! #electionresults2026 #vijay #TVK #cmvijay #mgr

The counting of votes for the recently concluded elections is scheduled for May 4, when results will be officially declared by the Election Commission of India across multiple counting centers under tight security and strict protocols. This process involves the systematic counting of electronic voting machines (EVMs) along with VVPAT slips in selected booths to ensure transparency and accuracy, while candidates, party representatives, and observers closely monitor every stage. Trends usually begin to emerge within the first few hours of counting, giving an early indication of which parties or alliances are leading, but final confirmations often take longer depending on the size and complexity of constituencies. Political parties, analysts, and the public await this day with high anticipation, as the results will determine the formation of the next government and significantly influence the political direction, governance priorities, and policy decisions in the coming term! #tvk #vijay #thalapathyvijay #ClassicCinema #TamilCinema Disclaimer: Under Section 107 of the copyright act 1976, allowance is made for fair use for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, scholarship, and research. The son of Thalapathy Vijay’s trusted driver, Rajendran, has scripted an extraordinary tale of loyalty. R. Sabarinathan, who once wept uncontrollably on stage when handed a TVK ticket, has now won the Virugambakkam seat by over 27,000 votes. From his father’s three decades of service to his own tears being wiped away by the leader, this victory is a testament to unwavering devotion and the promise of a new dawn in Tamil Nadu’s politics 🇮🇳❤️

#🇯🇵 TVK election results 2026 LIVE: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief 'Thalapathy' Vijay is ahead in both the seats he is contesting from -- Perambur and Trichy (East) - as the Election Commission of India is counting votes for the TN assembly election TVK election results 2026 LIVE updates: The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar -- famously known as 'Thalapathy' Vijay -- has stormed past MK Stalin's Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), delivering a stellar performance in its debut electoral contest. The TVK party first crossed the majority mark of 118, touching a lead of nearly 170 seats, and then took a stark dive below 118. Vijay's TVK has now once again crossed the magic figure, leading in over 120 seats. Meanwhile, the 'Thalapathy' is ahead on both Perambur and Trichy East. The Election Commission will announce the results for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. Vijay's TVK decided to go solo and contest all 234 assembly constituencies on its own. The assembly polls have been an intense three-way battle between the TVK, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Vijay's political entry and TVK Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar launched the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on February 2, 2024. His party was officially registered by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on September 8, 2024. From the very beginning, Vijay positioned TVK on modern Dravidian principles, saying that only his party has the guts to take on the "evil force" and the "corrupt force". Vijay has claimed that he would script his success story similar to that of the iconic actor and legendary AIADMK leader MG Ramachandran, by storming to power this year. Vijay has described the DMK as an "evil force" and the BJP as an "ideological opponent."TVK's solo strategy TVK chief Vijay had earlier said that he views the assembly polls as a "democratic battle", rather than an electoral fight. In reference to his decision to contest the Tamil Nadu elections solo, Vijay had said, "This force of TVK will win even if no friendship force (alliance) is with us. "Despite rumours of TVK forming an alliance with the party.

@actorvijay @trishakrishnan . . . . The 2026 #Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly #election is currently at its climax, with the counting of votes having commenced at 8:00 AM today, May 4, 2026. Following a high-stakes polling day on April 23 that saw a record 85.1% voter turnout, early trends indicate a seismic shift in the state's political landscape. Actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (#TVK) has surged ahead, currently leading in 105 seats and challenging the decades-long dominance of the #DMK and #AIADMK. While the AIADMK+ alliance holds steady in approximately 75 seats, the ruling DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance is trailing significantly with leads in just 47 constituencies. As the counting progresses toward the 118-seat majority mark, all eyes are on whether vijaythalapathi will successfully upend the traditional "Dravidian Model" to become the state's next Chief Minister.

In a moment that surprised many, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reportedly reacted to his latest election result of 99.93% votes with an unusual tone. Instead of celebrating, Kim said he felt “hurt” that he didn’t get a full 100%. Calling it “not perfect,” he joked that he would try harder next time to win every single vote. He also made a light remark saying the remaining 0.07% who didn’t support him would not face any punishment. The statement quickly caught attention online, with many people reacting with memes and disbelief. Elections in North Korea are often known for extremely high approval rates, which has raised questions globally. While it’s unclear how serious his comments were, the moment has gone viral, with people calling it both funny and unusual coming from such a tightly controlled political system. Virugambakkam constituency witnessed a powerful electoral moment as R. Sabarinathan, son of Rajendran—former driver of actor-turned-politician Vijay—emerged victorious in the latest election. Representing TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), Sabarinathan defeated the sitting DMK MLA with a massive margin of 27,086 votes, marking one of the standout results of the contest. The win is being seen as a strong underdog story, highlighting a shift in voter mood and giving TVK a significant boost in the region. This result is now being widely discussed as a symbol of changing political dynamics in Tamil Nadu. #ThalapathyVijay #Virugambakkam #TamilNaduPolitics #tvk

#In a statistical "miracle" that has sent social media into a frenzy of dark humour, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has secured a 15th Supreme People’s Assembly win with a near-impossible figure of 99.93% votes. This is from another figure of 99.99% voter turnout. While the Workers’ Party claimed 99.93% of the total vote, state media outlet KCNA made the unprecedented move of acknowledging a 0.07% dissent rate—the first time "No" votes have been admitted since 1957. The numbers have sent netizens into a frenzy with users on X (formerly Twitter) joking about a "summer population decrease" for the brave 0.07%. @btw_its_addy22
As of May 4, 2026, the counting of votes for the West Bengal Assembly elections is still underway, and early trends indicate a dramatic political shift in the state. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a strong lead and appears to be moving comfortably past the majority mark of 148 seats, with trends suggesting it could cross around 170 seats if the momentum continues. On the other hand, the ruling All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee, is trailing significantly, hovering near the 90–100 seat range. If these trends hold, it would mark a historic moment, as the BJP has never previously formed a government in West Bengal, potentially ending over a decade and a half of TMC rule under Mamata Banerjee. The election has largely been a high-stakes, bipolar contest between BJP and TMC, with smaller alliances like the Left-Congress combine playing a much weaker role in the overall outcome. Mamata Banerjee herself is contesting from the high-profile Bhabanipur constituency and is currently leading there, maintaining her personal political dominance even as her party struggles in broader state trends. On the BJP side, one of the most prominent faces in the state is Suvendu Adhikari, who has been central to the party’s campaign and is contesting from a key constituency, while other regional leaders have also played significant roles in expanding BJP’s base across Bengal. At the national level, BJP’s campaign has been heavily backed by central leadership, especially Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, neither of whom are contesting in the state election. For the TMC, apart from Mamata Banerjee, her nephew Abhishek Banerjee has been a crucial organizational figure, though he is not contesting this assembly election and instead operates at the party’s national and strategic level. Similarly, in the broader opposition space, leaders from the Indian National Congress and the Left parties have participated in the campaign, but their electoral impact appears limited in the current trends. Congress’s central figures like Rahul Gandhi have supported campaigning. #Westbengal #bengalelections #bjp #tmc #narendramodi
