To reach here, you need to: 🚗 Drive from Muscat 🚤 Take a short boat ride 🥾 Hike through canyons 🏊 Swim through emerald pools 😶‍🌫️ And squeeze between narrow rocks What you get in return? A real-life oasis with turquoise water, dramatic canyons, lush greenery, and finally a hidden waterfall inside a cave one of the most unique experiences in Oman. On the way back, we also visited Bimmah Sinkhole which honestly looks straight out of an AI-generated image. Save this for your Oman trip 🇴🇲 I almost skipped Wadi Shab because I thought it would be too hard for my parents. 45-minute hike. Swim through deep natural pools. Uneven rocky trail. So I followed my dad the whole time to make sure he was safe. Turns out, my father was leading the way the entire time. If you’re travelling with parents and wondering if it’s doable — it is. ഇത് പോലെ കിളി പാറിയ ഒരു ട്രെക്കിംഗ് ഇതിന് മുൻപോ ശേഷമോ ഞാൻ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല!😲But trust me, if you’re in Oman, never miss this spot. We reached the Wadi Shab trekking point after about a 2-hour drive from Muscat. We paid 1 OMR, took a boat, crossed to the other side, and that’s where the trek began. By the time we started trekking, the sun was blazing hot. Still, it was an adventurous and incredibly beautiful trek. Even though the trek itself was only about 45 minutes, the heat made it feel like 4.5 hours. In the end, all the struggle paid off. We reached a wadi with crystal-clear water. From there, we didn’t walk anymore — we swam forward. Having a life jacket was the only thing that gave us the confidence. Swimming through the water and entering through a cave, we finally reached a breathtaking natural pool. After spending time playing in the water, we started our return walk under the harsh afternoon sun — honestly, that was an experience on another level. We then took the car, stopped at the first mandi restaurant we saw, enjoyed a hearty mandi meal, and headed back to Muscat. Save my 10 Day Oman Itinerary 🇴🇲 Itinerary at a Glance! 2 days Muscat 1 day Wadi Shab 2 days Wahiba Sands 1 day Jebel Akhdar 2 days Nizwa 1 day Dimaniyat Islands Day 1-2 Explore Mutrah Souq and the fort overlooking the old town. Wake up early and go to Sultan Qaboos Mosque for the opening at 8am. Spend 1-2 hours here and spend the day exploring more of Muscat or lounge at the hotel or go to one of the many beaches. For sunset hike up to Hamriyah Viewpoint. Day 3 Leave Muscat and stop at Bimmah Sinkhole on your way to Wadi Shab. Spend the day hiking to Wadi Shab. This is a natural canyon pool right in Tiwi and it was the highlight of our trip. There are some crazy canyons, waterfalls and cliff jumping spots. We stayed the night in Tiwi! Day 4-5 Head to your desert camp! Explore the dunes for sunset Do one of the desert camp activities like camel riding, hot air balloon riding, or just simply walk into the dunes. We stayed at Thousand Nights Camp and loved it. Day 6 Explore the area of Jebel Akhdar and stay in a cool hotel in the mountains. Do some hiking or relax, taking in the views. Day 7-8 Walk around Nizwa and go shopping and enjoy some of the cafes and restaurants. Make sure to go to Nizwa Fort, the old souq and the wall walk! Day 9 head back to Muscat and cruise to the Dimaniyat Islands by going on a half day boat tour. These islands are beautiful and is a must on any Oman trip. You need to book this in advance and most tours leave from Muscat. Day 10 fly or bus out of Muscat. Oman is only a 6 hour bus from Dubai

Loved the trek, mainly because it was all flat :P Make sure you wear good shoes cause some of the rocks are wet and slippery on the trek and chances of slipping are higher. But I was genuinely awestruck at how pretty some of the locations were. Also, at just 3 hours away from India, it is also quite inexpensive on your pocket.
