VS Code paired with Claude Code is the clear top pick. Full control, no limits, and you can build anything. Nothing else comes close.
If you lost access to that tomorrow, Framer would be next. It's fast, it's flexible, and it actually produces sites worth charging for. Google AI Studio sits right next to it. And it's completely free, which makes it almost unfair.
Then there's Lovable and Base44. Good tools. Real output. But not at the level where you can build a premium service around them.
Figma is fine for collaboration, but it's a design tool pretending to be a builder. Mediocre output for the effort.
WordPress, Squarespace, Wix? That conversation doesn't need to happen here.
The tool you pick determines the ceiling on what you can charge.
