Progressive overload often doesn’t look like huge increases in the dumbbell you’re holding from class to class. 🤯 In fact, this change often happens much more incrementally over a longer period of time. Insert wrist weights. 💪🏼💪🏼 1-2 pound wrist weights can be a beneficial way to sustainably increase the load to the muscles overtime, especially with upper body lifts. If you begin to notice that you’re not getting close to muscle failure in your workout set with your usual dumbbell, but going up by 5 lbs feels like too much, add a wrist weight instead. 😃 You can add a wrist weight to any of our upper body lifts in which we use a dumbbell without changing the phase loading of the exercise. Quick note: we don’t use wrist weights to “burn more calories” during a class. Kapuy.🥵 But thankful. 🤪 I’m surprised I could do this still (esp after getting sick for a time) and happy to be side by side with my teenager. Here’s the full workout for your reference. We did it in 45mins including warm up. Strict si coach daddy kahit remote.😝 Treadmill 8 minute uphill climb (not jog, but not slow walk) 2 min flat surface cooldown Stretch 4 sets Squat Press to tiptoe 10 reps Overhead Triceps Extension 10 reps 10 second rest 4 sets Lateral pull down Or Bent Over Row 10 reps Body Weight Squats 10 second rest 2 min rest 4 sets Deadlift 10 reps Upright Row 10 reps Lateral Raise 10 reps 10 second rest Stretch Finish
