Interfere VS Intervene - what’s the difference?? They both mean to get involved in a situation that you (or someone) wasn’t previously part of. The big difference is that Interfere is considered negative or annoying. Imagine someone trying to jump into an argument they aren’t a part of because they want to be in the drama, annoying right? That’s interfering. To intervene is normally neutral or positive. Imagine the government getting involved to stop a famous old building being sold and demolished. Intervene also has a second meaning, “to come between”. It’s normally used to talk about the time between two events, it’s not that common is everyday English though… for example ✨“Two decades intervened between the completion of the design and the opening of the theatre.“ #english #learnenglish. #studyenglish #englishlanguage #englishvocabulary
