ITHearing people, please stop teaching ASL online. It’s really harmful for us Deaf people. For hearing people who think they’re doing it right, please look at hand movements carefully because they might be doing it wrong. Lola, you have been doing this for around 3 years since I called you out. You did nothing but block me and other Deaf creators. All I want you to do is to stop teaching ASL. And frankly, I’m well aware that what I’m signing here is PSE. It’s the system I’m most comfortable expressing myself with. I made this video simply to educate people on what ASL is. ASL is its own language with its own structure, and it’s fully capable of expressing anything the human mind can think. I can choose to use ASL whenever I choose to do so, and I’m not saying that any Deaf person’s preferred way of expressing themselves is wrong. Every form of expression is valid. That’s all there is to it, innit? 😅

**I tend not to include the gloss of my reels. However, to comprehend the ASL sentence structure it’s important to include the glossed version as well.
IF I NEED “recharge my batteries” I NEED WHAT? SHORT BREAK. BUT IF I NEED UNWIND, RELAX I REQUIRE WHAT? LONG VACATION.
Please note that I translated “recharge my batteries” into the actual meaning behind the phrase.
It’s important to understand that when you read English captions for an ASL video, they have already been translated into proper English. These sentences convey the English equivalent to the ASL meanings. Remember, they are two completely different languages!
