Me Made May Day 2 Wearing my denim Ora Pinafore today - I absolutely love the shape of this pattern, it fits so nicely on the top then flares out. I wear this to work quite a lot as it’s got fantastic big pockets for all the things. Wearing with one of my earliest makes - a wiksten shift top in a white cotton double gauge. Made with a very dodgy neckline. Unpicked the facing because I didn’t understand interfacing and it looked awful - now just folded the neckline over & I wear it all the time. Boots are @toast rubber/neoprene which I also wear to work pretty much every day. #wikstenshift #wikstenshifttop #orapinafore #softenstudio #memademay #memademay2024

One fabric two ways! When I really love a fabric, I’ll try to make a second garment from the leftovers. Do you obsess over certain fabrics too?! I wanted to use up every bit of the Merchant & Mills ABC, so I pieced the leftovers from my Wilder Gown into enough fabric to make a Wiksten Shift Top. I loved getting to have even more fun with those multicoloured stripes. Speaking of stripes, my new Noodlehead Patchwork Plover had to make an appearance - I made patchwork stripes from Kona and added Olive Essex for the contrast fabric. This is the largest size and you can get a sense of the scale when I’m holding it. I’m using it as a project bag for both knitting AND the Juniper top I’m currently making. Ps. I tried burning some cedar incense to create a bug free zone.
