Filho de um dos precursores do windsurf no Brasil, Marcilio Browne nasceu em Fortaleza (CE) em 1989, cercado pelo vento e pelo mar desde muito cedo. Aos 4 anos, já estava em cima de uma prancha. Aos 12, decidiu que o esporte seria sua profissão. Com o apoio da família, mudou-se ainda jovem para a Europa, onde pôde competir em alto nível e aprimorar sua técnica junto aos principais nomes da modalidade.
Aos 16 anos, estreou com impacto no cenário internacional, vencendo sua primeira competição da PWA (Professional Windsurfers Association) em um evento indoor na Bélgica — um feito raro para um atleta tão jovem.
Desde então, Marcilio construiu uma carreira marcada pela versatilidade entre as categorias Wave e Freestyle, pela inovação nas manobras aéreas e pela consistência em condições extremas, características que o consagraram como um dos velejadores mais técnicos e respeitados do mundo.
🔹 Marcos da carreira:
• Campeão Mundial de Freestyle (PWA, 2007)
• Campeão Mundial de Wave (PWA, 2013, 2022 e 2023)
• Vitórias recentes no Japão, Chile e no Maui Pro-Am 2025, onde superou adversários de elite em condições desafiadoras.
Brawzinho é admirado tanto por seu controle em manobras técnicas quanto por sua leitura estratégica das ondas, sendo frequentemente citado por portais como Windsurf Journal e pela própria PWA como um atleta referência em evolução técnica, preparo físico e mentalidade competitiva.
