TSWTF happened to Wintertime?
Wintertime, also known as Wintertime Zi, is a rapper from Florida who came up during the SoundCloud era alongside people like Lil Yachty and Ugly God. Many people who were fans of Yachty know his collab project with Wintertime that was titled “Wintertime On A Boat.”
Going into the mid to late 2010s, Wintertime was rising rapidly in the SoundCloud rap scene, being known for tracks like “Thru It All” and “All The Time 2.” But then in 2017, he disappeared, stopped dropping music, and wasn’t communicating online. The fans were confused as to why someone with so much momentum would step away from the spotlight like that.
A couple years later in 2019, Wintertime actually said he had been in Iceland for the past two years, and that he would be returning to music soon. In that same year, he was featured on the Ugly God album “Bumps & Bruises.” There’s actually a video (on YouTube) of both of them on IG live talking about this album right around the time when it dropped (2019).
And then in 2021, Wintertime hinted at possibly dropping music in 1000 years from now. “March 3021” lol I guess bro was trolling. But four years later, just last year in 2025, Ugly God stated that Wintertime has a family now, and he has been coaching high school basketball.
Honestly good for Wintertime — he knew he didn’t want to be in the spotlight, so he decided he wanted to live a normal life. Nothing wrong with that at all, just wish he would give us an update some time haha.
