This is white pine, the most common pine tree in the eastern US. A little ID trick for recognizing white pine is that itโs ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ด have ๐ฑ ๐ก๐๐๐๐๐๐ฆ, and the word ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ช๐ต๐ฆ has ๐ฑ ๐๐๐ง๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฆ.๐ค
Pine needles are packed with vitamin C, a great immune booster, diuretic, and can help reduce cough and cold symptoms.
Pine needle tea can be a delicious beverage to sip on through the winter, however if you want to get the most Vitamin C content out of them, they are best to infuse into cold water or honey.๐ง๐ฏ They can also be extracted into vinegar, oil, and alcohol.
If you want the more resinous and pungent qualities to help thin congested mucus or soothe a sore throat, try a pine needle decoction! And while youโre at it, make sure to breathe in the steam as you sip.โจ๏ธ๐ฅฐ
Since pine grows abundantly through the winter, it is better to remember where it grows and come back to harvest periodically rather than keeping a large stash at home. You should also try to harvest from multiple different trees to avoid causing too much stress to one of them.๐

YOIl polline di pino รจ considerato un potente superfood naturale, ricco di vitamine, minerali, aminoacidi e antiossidanti, noto per potenziare il sistema immunitario e aumentare l'energia.
ร ampiamente utilizzato per riequilibrare i livelli ormonali, in particolare per la presenza naturale di testosterone.
Con il suo aroma dolce e balsamico si puรฒ aggiungere a frullati, yogurt e molto altro, io ad esempio lo aggiungo al budino di semi di chia.
Questa polvere viene prodotta dai microsporofilli (fiori maschi) in primavera, con il vento andrร poi a fecondare i macrosporofilli (fiori femminili, strรฒbili o giovani pigne).
Raccolgo i fiori quando sono carichi di polline, li separo dagli aghi e li setaccio.
Lascio gli scarti ad essiccare e li setaccio una seconda volta poichรฉ continueranno a rilasciare ancora del polline.
Gli aghi invece li essicco e polverizzo, utilizzandoli per aromatizzare prodotti da forno.
Qui ho raccolto da alberi di pino d'Aleppo.

TOPicking wool to be spun into yarn for @the_ewe_maiden ๐ This is Lleyn wool, which @the_ewe_maiden decided she wanted blended with her own special Romney wool at the carding stage - the blend is BEAUTIFUL! It spins up nicely on the wheel, the longer Romney fibre means I can spin it finer than you usually could spin a medium staple fibre like Lleyn. The picker really opens up the fibre which gives a better carded batt which gives a better yarn.

Coir (pronounced koy-or) is made from the fibrous outer husk of the coconut. Packed into rolls or logs, they are often used in peatland restoration. A versatile material that can be manipulated into a space, they can be used to block gullies, dam small drain or as simple bunds in rush dominated areas.
The Coir logs will slow the flow of water and raise the local water table. Over time we expect the rushes to decline and mosses to become more important. Coir is biodegradable but lasts long enough to slow water flow, encourage sediment to accumulate and the growth of vegetation. The coir here will last for three to five years, by this time its role will have been taken over by the plants that establish behind it.

I opted to go for a more cropped cardigan look and made the sleeves extra long so they would cover my hands. Although Iโve been crocheting forever, it took me a bit to wrap my head around how the pattern was written, but once I got the concept, it was smooth sailing.
