Because when there’s no limit, there’s also no pressure to use it. People are worried about the perception to their boss. Teams feel guilty taking too much time. And companies save money because they don’t have to pay out unused days when you leave. To be fair—it can be incredibe, if your company actually encourages taking time off. So it’s not really about how much you can take. It’s about how much you feel you can take. Be honest—would you rather have unlimited days or a set number?
